Strong starter
I bought these to upgrade the strength of the starters in a damp garage where the lights would not trigger with the old units. These have a slightly higher power output and work extremely well

Not as pictured.
The picture for these these fluorescent starters show the product made by the company "British General" (BG). I bought the starters as back-ups for the two fluorescent fixtures I own, which are equipped with BG starters. What I received are not BG products. The items I received are labelled as follows: POWERSTART ENERGY SAVING STARTER FS-U 4-80W/18-38-58W 2120V-250V WITH MYLAR CONDENSER NON-FLAMMABLE CAP IEC 155A CE.I tested the starters I received in one of my fluorescent fixtures and they work properly, so I am satisfied with them for now and certainly the price is right at £2.38 for two. Delivery was very efficient as well: I ordered them on a Wednesday and received them the next day.I am giving these starters 4 out of 5 stars because they do work, however I find it deceptive when an online business shows a picture of a particular product by a particular manufacturer and then ships a product made by another company especially when there is no company name on the item. I suspect they are cheap generic goods made in China. I will only know if I install them and discover that they wear out in a few months I suppose. They may do the job just as well as a BG starter and only time will tell of course, but be advised that you will not received the item that is pictured.

Don't get me started ... er, actually ... do.
A standard barrel shaped starter for use with fluorescent tubes. Does exactly what it is supposed to and is still working months after being fitted.EDIT: It is now 16 months since I fitted the starter in a kitchen fluorescent unit and it has seen a lot of use over that time. Approximately two months ago it began to take a little longer to fire up the tube and it just failed completely last week. I'd say that 16 months of heavy usage is pretty good going, so now I've increased my rating to five stars. Unlike some reviewers I choose to actually use an item and see how it performs long term rather than jump straight in with a top rating, so that - to answer the person who left a comment - is why this review only had four stars for so long.

They work.
Easy fix.

Low price, low quality
would suggest buying elsewhere if you plan on using these outside of a garage or shed, they can take some time to switch on and are shorter then any previous iv bought making it a little difficult to twist them when installing.

Cheap but works !
As other reviewers say about the product you may not get what you actually see in the picture (I got 4-60W), however, the starters do work. They arrived in good, new condition. They where easy to fit and after a few weeks they are still working. The light powers up just as quickly as it did under the old starters. The company should, however, make sure that their description/picture match what they actually send you - hence only 4 stars given.
