Handy little tool!
I have an old Victorian house, and drilling holes in the wall tends to end up with a crater!I saw this on here, and thought it was worth a pop (it was cheaper than Screwfix too). I didn't expect much, but it did the job brilliantly. I can screw raw plug sized holes with minimal issues now!It can also drill holes at different angles too on wood. Handy little thing to have in the tool box!

Not a universal solution to keeping your drilled holes straight but works well in the right situations
I bought this item to provide a mobile equivalent to a pillar drill - well as close as this type of item could do. You know the issue, you are drilling a hole into a door, wall etc and you think you were going straight....and then you come through the other side of the object in question and you are not in the same position as you should have been.Ironically I bought this device just after such an occurrence (remedial work solved that mistake) and have not had much use for it since. However, I did get to finally use it this weekend and it is okay. Why just okay? Well to be honest, the item I was trying to drill was annoyingly too small for this tool to work correctly, in that no firm base could be established. So it is not a universal aid for all of your misalignment woes but I did then have a play on some more appropriately sized gash material I had lying around and it did the job well.As others have noted, this is really only of use with wood and HSS drill bits. Masonry drills have extended drill heads that are bigger than the shaft, so cannot be fed through the correct hole in this tool. There are ways around this i.e. start the hold and then feed the masonry drill backwards through the tool and then into the drill's chuck but it is a bit of a fuss. That fuss might be worth it though, if hole straightness is needed. So all in all, this a reasonably priced tool which seems to be built to a reasonably quality. I will be keeping it with my drill from now on, so it is always at hand. But the job does need to be of a suitable size for it to work....or indeed the area around the object to be drilled needs to provide enough space for the tool to get into position.

Simple yet highly effective
Really useful piece of kit. Makes drilling holes for drawer handle screws really easy. I spent an hour trying to make a jig. Why bother. This little tool does the business.

At last I can drill perpendicular holes
Very please at how effective this jig is. It has been carefully designed as ut is easy to hold in position and drilling is not affected. It covers the range of twist drill sizes to 10 mm. Quailty is high as expected from Wolfcraft and it is worth paying a little more for something that works so well.

A cleverly designed tool which made a difficult job easy.
I was faced with the challenge of drilling 4 5mm holes 75mm deep in a york stone wall to align accurately with steel mounting pins in the back of a slate name plate. This tool worked perfectly in conjunction with a template I made from a sheet of thin plywood. I used a 5mm masonry drill, with a 4mm shaft, so used the 4mm guide hole, inserting the bit backwards before attaching to my hammer drill - a tip seen in another review. I also used LM grease to lubricate the shaft of the drill bit to avoid overheating. It made a job I'd been dreading so simple.

Very useful
Drilling vertically with a cordless can be difficult. This gizmo helps orient the drill bit vertically and is very good.Although there is some play, about 1-3 degrees, overall, it achieves vertical drilling quite well and because of the small size, it can fit into some awkward places.Just be sure to put the underside flat against the wood or metal you are drilling and if possible, clamp it.The other point is do make a punch hole in the material so that you have a guide point in which to put the drill bit because it is difficult to see where the point is when the guide is flat against the work.Overall, very good.

All in All OK for what I wanted
Looks good but I not tried it yet I hope it works I am not sure if the drill bit in the holes will eat away the sides and cause it to be inaccurate as the sleeve looks like plastic, I have now used it it works well just gives you that extra edge. a slightly larger gap between the base and the work piece would have been more beneficial. I was drilling aluminium plate and the gap was not deep enough to cope with the curly tail swarf so the accumobile has to be lifted off the work piece then reapplied. All in All OK for what I wanted.

Perfect for accurate straight drilling
Got this to help with putting up a 90cm floating shelf in the kitchen. The hole had to be 70mm deep and dead straight.I'd seen reviews that said not suitable to masonry drills, however I started the hole with 10mm masonry bit then selected the best size hole in the drilling aid to take the shank of the drill, fed it through the aid to the drill chuck and continued drilling. Job done!
