Stargazer Translucent Pressed Powder Compact
This is great for the price. The Translucent shade is ideal if, like me, you have a pale complexion but aren't quite pale enough for the ultra-white Goth look. I usually find most makeup products too yellow/orange but this is neutral enough for me. It gives quite good coverage without looking too powdery - I don't wear any foundation but a light layer of this powder keeps me shine free and disguises red areas adequately. The powder lasts surprisingly well. During the recent heatwave I've applied it over factor 50 facial sun lotion and it stayed put for hours in a sweltering hot office with no A/C. It even withstood a day out at the seaside - I felt like my face would be bright red and sweaty-looking but the powder stood up remarkably well despite the heat! There is no discernible fragrance to the product (hooray!) and the packaging, while very basic, is sturdy. There is a bit of fallout from the compact when you use it, and the applicator/pad is cheap-seeming, but you can always carry a little brush or buy replacement pads/circular sponges in any drugstore. I'm definitely going to try the Natural Shimmer one as well.

Good Translucent Powder!
For the price of this, it does what it says! I always go for a translucent powder instead of a coloured power as I only really want to use the powder to set my make-up and this does just that. It kinda has that old lady smell to it but most powders do! Put this on then add a little highlighter/bronzer and your set!

Great value, does the job
Really good value for money and I love that it comes with a compact mirror. Perfect for a touch up if you find your T zone gets oily throughout the day.

Not worth it
The powder is not properly pressed and leaks out into my bag making a terrible mess. Returns are not accepted and Amazon doesn’t offer any further help.

When is a mirror NOT a mirror?
The powder is fine. The "mirror" on the inside of the flip-top lid is just a piece of cheap, vaguely-reflecting plastic. It's absolutely useless for applying make up or even just checking your teeth for rogue spinach. I LOVE a compact with a mirror. ALL compacts should have mirrors - am I right? This is not a mirror - it's so foggy that I spent several minutes trying to clean it before realising that's just the way it is. Sigh.
