Is there a setting where it just mixes it around to put butter and sugar in but not burn the pop corn

No, you can't add any butter or sugar to the machine, I think it may catch fire. That has to be done afterwards when it's in the bowl or you could put the cooked popcorn in a saucepan with the melted butter or sugar and mix it that way.

how do you add your own flavouring? is this really that good?

My grand children added melted butter on the first batch then mixed icing g sugar with salt on the second and my son on law made toffee with butter and sugar for the third, but it was really popular with nothing added. And it is really a wonderful present for any home so now all my grandchildren have one in their house.

Hi, I bought this machine and the popcorn is coming out chewy? Is there a fault with the machine or do I need to try a specific pop corn? Thanks

I don't have this problem - although I splashed out on some expensive US popping corn which is very tasty. A look online suggests that either it's the age of the popcorn or the buttering etc of the popcorn that makes it soggy. Myself, I use a large plastic bowl to catch the popcorn as it flies out of the machine, and I only make as much popcorn as the cup will hold. I know this doesn't help much, but basically, the machine *does* work.

Anyone use this to roast coffee beans?

It would probably partially work - once. I haven't tried it, and I wouldn't. The popper works because popped corn is expelled from the exit chute and fluffy corn will rise and come out with centrifugal force. The heater isn't designed for the duration needed to roast beans, and there would be little way of measuring temperature, or ensuring they were evenly roasted. Try a cast iron skillet, it would be hotter and you'd have more control.
