Yes, it will work because you can put a battery in, thus negating the need for phantom power. However, it's not really designed for voice over stuff. You'd probably be better off with a USB vocal mic for that, or even a small portable field recorder like a Zoom.

Q: Is the microphone appropriate to use on a stage? I want to use it on a small school stage and connect it with a DMX cable.

You can connect the microphone via any XLR cable, and especially if you want to use phantom power, though it will accept an AA battery. This is a shotgun microphone with a directional polar pattern, so proximity and directionality of placement are crucial.

You would do better to buy a seperate recording device to connect i too, in my opinion. Cameras make good visuals. Sound recorders make good sounds.
