Excellent Reliable Packing Tape
The Rapesco 1697 Strong Packing Tape is a solid performer for all my packing needs. This clear, 50mm x 60m tape comes in a convenient pack of two, offering good value. Its strength is impressive; it adheres very well to various surfaces and holds boxes securely, giving me confidence that my packages will stay sealed. It's easy to dispense and doesn't split or tear unexpectedly, which is a common frustration with lower-quality tapes. For its reliability, strong adhesion, and practical design, it's an excellent product. It's durable, gets the job done efficiently, and I would definitely purchase this packing tape again. It's a dependable choice for both home and office use.Reliable Packing Tape - Good ValueThe Rapesco 1697 Strong Packing Tape, in a pack of two, is a dependable choice for general packing needs. It's clear, which I prefer for a neat finish, and the 50mm x 60m size provides plenty of tape per roll. The tape adheres well to cardboard and other surfaces, offering a strong seal for parcels and boxes. It's easy to use, unrolling smoothly without excessive tearing or splitting, and feels durable enough for standard shipping and storage. For the price, getting two rolls of this quality offers good value.Overall, it's a solid, no-nonsense packing tape that performs as expected. I'd recommend it for anyone needing a reliable, clear packing solution.

Good quality and a lot of fun
Product seems very sturdy and would probably be perfectly suitable for situations where taping many boxes would be required. It's largely a metal construction with some good solid plastic parts in the places you'd expect e.g. the handle. Not exactly sure what the issues are with reviewers having difficulty setting it up. There are clear 4 step picture instructions printed on the box and it also says the website you can visit to read the written instructions, should they be needed. Maybe the packaging was different before? (Either that or people just didn't look hard enough). Even without instructions it's still a fairly simple and easy thing to set up - it's just a matter of pushing the roll of tape onto the spinny thing at the rear and then pulling the tape strip under the roller at the front. From there it is pretty much ready to go and how easily the tape dispenses can be adjusted as needed by turning the tensioning wheel.Blades seem to cut well most of the time and after a few practice goes to get the hang of it I had no issues completely resealing the box it came in within seconds. Overall I found this to be quite an enjoyable packaging tool, it's far less tedious than just using scissors. The end of the tape is never lost and it can be operated easily with one hand.

Tape away, tape hurray
instead of finding scissors to awkwardly cut some sellotape, use this to quickly and easily dispense tape when needed. Was great for the Christmas presents. I regularly use it to seal cooked meat back into the packaging and back into the fridge for a later time. Proving handy in the kitchen. You may also need to send out the odd parcel or box and the handle makes it ergonomic to break off tape with one hand...Of course where it will really shine is in a warehouse environment where boxes are abound, on goods inwards, checking the accuracy and type of stock, ready for pickers and then distribution out into the worldYou might want it if you're moving house, to make up some flat pack boxes. Overall I think it's a great tool to have and better than a desk dispenser. The days of trying to find the edge of stuck down sellotape are truly over. It's fairly priced and relatively sturdy enough to be trustworthy for it's intended use. You won't regret having one.

Easy to use
I bought this to assemble boxes when moving house. It worked really well. It's easy to use, light to hold and sturdy. On the first use you need to attach the end of your tape to the box by hand but after that the blade holds the sticky side of the tape so you can just press it down on the box and pull to seal the box. My son has a hand impairment and he used it with ease.

Professional-Grade Tape That Actually Stays Put
After trying numerous packing tapes over the years, this Rapesco tape has proven itself to be remarkably reliable and user-friendly. The 50mm width provides excellent coverage, while the generous 60-meter length on each roll means you're not constantly running out mid-project. What truly sets this tape apart is its superior adhesion – it grips immediately and stays put, whether you're sealing cardboard boxes for storage or securing packages for shipping. The clarity is exceptional too; it's genuinely crystal clear rather than the cloudy appearance you often get with cheaper tapes, making labels and box contents easily visible underneath. The real test of quality packing tape is how it performs during use, and this is where the Rapesco excels. It unrolls smoothly without that annoying splitting or folding over itself that plagues lesser tapes, and you can actually tear it by hand without it turning into a stringy mess. The durability is impressive – boxes sealed months ago show no signs of the tape peeling or losing its grip, even in varying temperature conditions. While it's priced slightly higher than budget alternatives, the frustration and time saved by not having to repeatedly re-tape packages makes it well worth the investment. The only minor quibble is that it would benefit from a better end tab to help locate the tape edge when you first start using it, but this is a small issue in an otherwise excellent product.
