High quality product at a very reasonable price
I have been searching for earplugs for a long time. Without taking out a fincial burden in the form of a mortgage, I have not found any that are (a) comfortable when worn for more than an hour, (b) respectful of others' around me by not being audible in close proximity (c) not reminiscent of 70s-era headphones with the associated inconvenience when wearing them and the hot ear discomfort. I was, therefore, interested when these Betron YSM1000 ear plugs popped up as part of a promotional activity on Amazon. Given the discounted price, I felt compelled to roll the dice once more and see if these were The Ones*. I have to say, I am very pleasantly surprised. *Spoiler alert: they may be, given what I can afford. They plugs come with a range of covers in different materials and sizes, to allow one to choose the most agreeable for one's ears. I was looking for covers that felt comfortable immediately and that did not irritate me after wearing for several hours; I am happy to say that my choice are snug and I have not had any cause to take the plugs out due to inconsiderate inetraction between them and my ears. Having chosen, I was keen to find out what the sound was like. I was and still am impressed. One could - and I have - pay far more and get much less clarity of sound, much less range whilst maintaining that clarity and far more distortion, even at low volume. I am using the plugs with my iPod Classic and I like the sound for my taste in music. Since it is my taste in music, I try to remain aware that it may not be to everyone's liking. I have asked a number of people next to me when I have been using the plugs if the sound is distrubing for them. In each case so far, I have been told that they were unable to hear anything at all. Given that I am known, from time to time, to increase the volume to drown out back ground noise or just to enjoy the music in my own splendid isolation, I believe that these plugs are indeed quieter to third parties than every other set I have owned. This was not a purchasing consideration over which I lingered but I do like the appearance. The gold metallic parts with the black cabling are not - as some are - bling, just simple and stylish. I have not had the plugs long but hope that the finish stays as good after longer term use. These are not Bang & Olufsen and I would not wish a prospective purchaser to think that the sound is anywhere near the cutting edge of technology with respect to digital sound reproduction - they are not. However, I do recommend that you consider these and even try them for yourself due ot the commercial reality: for the price, they are extremely high value for money.

Way better than their price implies
Headphone quality has hugely improved over the last couple of decades. You really don’t have to spend past double figures to get phones that thirty years ago would have wiped the floor with contemporary top market models. That doesn’t mean the most expensive models today are no different from cheap ones. There are improvements as you go up the price scale, but these days the law of diminishing returns applies more than ever. So unless you have deep pickets and really want the very last word in audio excellence (last word, that is, until the next model comes out) then read on. These phones are physically robust and can give you a full rich sound with impressive bass. The caveat as always is you will not get the best out of these phones (or any other phones, for that matter) unless they fit properly. Unless you have the right tip fitted and you have a tight but comfortable fit, the sound out of them will be tinny and possibly distorted. A budget pair of earphones that are well fitted will ALWAYS sound better than loose fitting expensive phones. The sound from the Betrons isn’t perfect. Push the volume up too much, and they distort, at worst making things unlistenable, and at best making loud passages sound muddy. More expensive phones are usually far more forgiving. But on the other hand, if you are playing music that loudly, I suggest you plan ahead and book your hospital appointment to have your deafness treated. A second gripe is that the soundstage is a little constricted compared to some phones. I personally don’t mind this, but it can irk some people. I compared these phones to others in my collection. The Betrons can hold their own against respected critics’ favourites. The only model they couldn’t quite match were some Sennheisers I bought a few years ago. But given said Sennheisers had a retail price of £1500, that isn’t perhaps surprising. For anyone wanting some decent phones without a painful price tag, these are very warmly recommended.

Excellent earphines for the price.
Was looking for a new set of earphones and opted for these after reading the reviews. I'll admit to being a little skeptical as it's rare to find a really good set of earphones for this price tag but I was pleasantly surprised. First the pros:- They sound AMAZING. I've always used Sony phones in the past as the sound quality is far better than most other earphones on the market that don't have a ridiculous price tag like Beats or Share. But these are one of the best sounding pairs I've ever had. How they've managed to pack so much punch into them and keep the price so low is beyond me. Seriously, the amount of bass is unreal and you can hear everything going on in the music. The build quality is also very good. They don't feel cheaply made, with solid metal construction. They do a really good job of isolating noise. I use the tube everyday and with these phones in and a reasonable volume on mp3 player I can't hear any outside noise. They look... Well.. Very cool. I've been asked several times how much I paid for them and people are always surprised when I tell them. You get plenty of options for fitting them in your ears. They supply you with 5 sets of silicone buds, and 2 sets of memory foam buds. I haven't found the memory foam ones that comfortable but the silicone ones are great and after a little trial and error I've found a pair that are a perfect fit for my ear canals. Now the cons:- They are a bit big. Compared to other earphones I've used before these have some size to them and they do stick out of your ears which can look a bit funny. It's not something that bothers me a lot as I usually wear a beanie and even without one I'm not that fussed, but if it's something to consider if it's important to you. They are also heavy. Comparatively. If you're used to wearing smaller, plastic earphones then the weight of them takes a bit of getting used to. Neither of the above points are enough to outweigh the terrific sound quality you get from such a low priced set of earphones though. I'd highly recommend these phones to anyone looking to buy a new set who doesn't want to spend a stupid amount of money on something you shove in your ear.

Best earphones I've ever used, best earphones I've ever washed without killing
I bought these earphones in 2015, and have yet to leave a review - so I think it's time. The amount of earbuds these earphones come with is insane. and they even come with two sets of memory foam earbuds - which have been the most comfortable I have ever been with earphones. I've been using these earphones for probably around 8 - 10 months (Can't remember exactly when I bought these) and have never had a problem with them. The sound is very nice, and the bass is surprising considering they're simply earphones; the volume is also good - with my old set of earphones the music on my phone was way too quiet, but with these a volume level of a quarter maximum is sufficient for pleasant listening (half if I want to get into the music, full volume if I want my ears to bleed in the most glorious way) They even come with a little case, which has been a godsend for me as I usually have to keep my earphones in my pocket. With the case you get you NEVER have to worry about having tangled wires, no matter where you put them. And, honestly, I really enjoy the feel of these earphones both in my hand and in my ears, the weight just feels good. But, time for the kicker... the main reason I'm finally leaving a review for these earphones almost a year after purchasing them. The very reason these earphones are getting 5 out of 5 stars. I recently washed them. Not cleaned them, literally washed them. They were in my pants and I put them in the washing machine without realising... but they still work. After being spun around a metal cylinder at 1400 rpm, full of 40c water, these awesome earphones still work! I will admit, the sound is a little bit tinny, and a set of memory foam earbuds got wrecked (apparently memory foam + hot water = concrete) - but, not only was it my own fault, in the end of the day these earphones survived something no other earphones I have ever used could ever imagine of surviving. I'm so impressed I am actually considering buying ANOTHER set, simply because I miss the awesome quality that my earphones used to be before being abused by the watery spin of doom. (By the way, whilst the sound may be a bit tinny now, the quality is still rather excellent.) Thank you, Betron, for a bloody awesome product!!!

Good in a Pinch
Alright for the price but you could definately get better with a little shopping around. Bought on a whim to bridge the gap whilst looking for some IEMs. Didnt really use the Microphone or volume controls as these were primarily used on a Computer and Laptop but i can say the overall sound quality is good and clean, Bass is a little lacking in my opinion and they're not the loudest even when your devices is on decently high volume. Overall theyre good in a pinch. This purchase is a couple years old at this point but i stumbled across these headphones today, theyve been rolled up in a drawer for the better part of a year and to my suprise theyre still working flawlessly!

The best earphones I've EVER had !!!
I love these new headphones. Over the years I've been through Philips', Sonys, Apples and Sennheisers and probably some lesser known brands I've experimented with too that I can't remember the names of now, but I think these are the best pair I've ever had and I'm a very regular user normally clocking up at least a couple of hours a day and often a lot more. The bass is glorious - in fact, it's almost too glorious and I found that for opera listening it was overpowering and recessing the vocals but I soon sorted that via my iPod's EQ settings and now the sound is just wonderfully lush. The treble is nice and crisp too and the volume levels have exceeded my expectations - in fact it was the reviews about the volume capacity of these that persuaded me to get them as other sets just seem to be getting quieter and quieter nowadays (imaginary I'm sure, but they certainly don't have anything like the power of these). I did a lot of reading around online before choosing this pair and the most negative thing I read on one site was that these were too heavy and uncomfortable but I have not found that to be the case at all. They ARE heavier than previous pairs but not awkwardly so and given the far superior power it is only to be expected and I soon got used to this, and this includes using them on the move and there's been no problem of them falling out or starting to hurt. Admittedly this has only been with walking and not jogging or in the gym but the fit is so snug witht the momory foam buds (another first for me that I am won over by) that I really can't imagine this being an issue. One teemy problem I had, which is not about the earphones themselves anyway, was that I live in Spain but don't speak Spanish so, as usual, I did my research online and then planned to make the order through Amazon.es to save on shipping (which I do very often - in this case shipping would have added a quarter of the price on, which is silly - I'm not mean but I don't throw money away either) but then I found that Spanish Amazon didn't sell them which was disappointing because after the great reviews I'd read y heart had been set on these. I ended up having to buy a different set instead but I was really so unsatisfied with them when they arrived that I went back to Amazon.co.uk and ordered the Betrons after all and had them sent to family in the UK who were due out a few weeks later who could bring them for me. They came out last weekend so I've had a week of trying them with all sorts of different music and audiobook recordings (going right back to vintage recordings made acoustically into a horn) and I really love them. All my niggle is here is that I really hope that Betron will get their fantastic prodoct out to a wider international market. I think they really deserve it. For now, in addition to showing my enthusiasm here, I shall be recommending these Betrons to all my friends and to anyone I might happen to bump into, say at a cafe-bar, who I see to be an earphone user. I really have never known earphones of this quality before, and this includes once trying out an expensive Bose set that belonged to a friend which I felt were no better than the Philips set I'd been using at that time. Until now, those old Philips had been my best earphones but the model was discontinued and nothing has satisified me as much since, but now the Betrons have superceded them. I doubt I'll be buying earphones from anyone else now and I'm already planning on buying a set for my dad's birthday, though probably not this model as I specifically got these for the volume which is my personal thing and that's not so much of an issue for him. However, it will be just as interesting for me as a bit of an audiophile to see what one of Betron's other models are like. Hopefully, I'll then be writing just as enthusiastic a review for a different pair of Betrons.

Beats the competition in every regard
Bought these as a replacement for my Sennheiser CX300IIs which gave up the ghost less than a month after the warranty expired. I was going to go with another pair of them but I really hated the asymmetrical length wires, so I decided to give these a go as they were cheaper (by £5 at time of writing). Firstly, these look really cool, way more interesting than your standard single-colour earphones that most companies provide. The main cable is see-through and has red and black wires intertwined along its length. They look premium and have a good weight to them, solid enough to feel expensive while not being too heavy as to be uncomfortable. I've actually received a few compliments and inquiries about them from friends while out and about. The packaging is great; these come in a cardboard case which is cool if you're into saving the planet but is also a billion times easier to get into than the plastic vacuum-packed affairs typical to other brands. They come with a fantastic amount of different sized ear pieces too in case the standard the default ones aren't the right size (I believe 4 extra pairs?). The default ones fitted me perfectly, however (with the Sennheisers I'd had to use the larger set that came with them), as well as a clip to attach them to your shirt and a rubber carry pouch, which I found to be a little small to fit them in properly but does the job fine. I initially found it difficult to work out which earpiece was which as while they do have 'L' and 'R' on each, it's written on the reflective shiny gold part just below the body of the earpiece which in daylight is impossible to see. Fortunately, there's also a coloured ring around each that can be used for identification as well (blue for left, red for right). Sound quality wise, these are outstanding. Perhaps it's because they fit my ears better than previous 'phones, but I found I was able to hear detail in songs at much lower volumes than before (e.g. echoes and reverb effects): excellent external noise reduction. Contrary to what other reviews have said, I did not notice a significant increase in bass presence than with Sennheisers, if anything they seem to have a better EQ mix (I listen to mostly blues and rock and similar genres, though I have tried dubstep and heavier music to check). Having used them mainly for walking to/from uni every day, I find the 'cable noise' caused by the wire bumping and rubbing across clothing to be very reduced, so much so that combined with the snug fit, I can listen to music at a volume only 3 or 4 notches above 0 (Android phone, Google Play Music app). I expect in the long run that this will be good for my hearing. Downsides? The only thing I've come across in my month or so of use is the straight connector end, I find it digs into my pocket and could get damaged more easily than a right angled jack. However, it's still a robust unit and I imagine it'll survive for plenty long enough. In summary, I would highly recommend these headphones as an affordable, high quality product that easily matches its more expensive brand name rivals. Definite buy.

Only of use if you are deaf (or want to be)
Only of use if you are deaf (or want to be). The volume is so loud that even with my devices down at 1% volume it's not anything resembling quiet. I don't know if this is just my pair or what the product is like, but I have seen others comment on how loud they are. EDIT: company contacted me after seeing my review. Their response was to tell me I'm wrong and imply I'm an idiot. Worth noting that within days this item was changed to "currently unavailable".
