Great little tool if you are upholstering. I bought it at £15. It is sturdy and dies the job. Recommended!

Exactly as described, takes a little time to get the technique of getting the webbing the right way round but once correct great. My only comment is that the dowel broke in half after about 10 uses and I had to replace it with a piece of 12mm bar from the garage, that will not break! Delivery was the day following placing the order!

This was great value for money, built well and very easy to use. I initially had difficulty figuring out what the hole in the middle of the stretcher was actually for, and which way to insert the webbing into it, found the diagrams not very intuitive, however, after a little perseverance, I did eventually figure it out. By the time I had completed the job on two chairs, the rest of them were a breeze, by the sixth chair I was certainly a seasoned pro! I was expecting the woollen type string securing the dowel to fall off, however, it is still absolutely fine. I notice some reviewers suggest a chain, however, in my experience it was perfectly ok, perhaps even a chain may cause more friction on the hands of the user, for me it was good as is. For such a cheap tool I initially had concerns about the lip of the Stretcher cracking when pulling the webbing taught, however, no such issues with my one, would highly recommend to any home DIYer. Don't even consider replacing webbing without this gem of a tool! We recently re-webbed a sofa seat but have had to do it again within months as we had not taken the slack out. This resulted in the seat sagging, and reclining mechanism sliced through the webbing we put on! Bought this and re-webbed the chair and it feels as good as new now! The stretcher is so easy to use, just loop the web through the slot in the stretcher and put the toggle through the loop. Adjust tension whilst gripping with thumb to prevent the webbing slipping back, and lever the stretcher on the edge of the chair frame until you have the desired tension. Then just tack or staple the webbing to the frame to secure. That is it, job done! The stretcher is very robust and is made from beechwood. It looks as though it will last for years to come. I would definitely recommend this. Arrived in good condition and on time.

The part of the webbing wore out under the seat of my IKEA Poang chair and I wasn't sure how to repair or whether to toss the chair.. After a lot of searching I discovered this device. Once I got the hang of using it, I easily replaced all the webbing. The tool works well.
