Sony - You've done it again - This Stereo at this price is superb. Apple Car Play and Android Auto. I've been using this unit for several months now and have updated the firmware twice - people complaining about boot times, this has been rectified with the latest firmware update, automatically clearing the notice screen, yes it take a few moments to boot up but no longer than booting a phone from off, so don't let this put you off. Screen is clear and buttons large so it's easy to operate. The new iOS 12 is going to bring third party app providers to the party, like Waze, Tom Tom, Google Maps, etc, factor that into your purchase and you've got a fantastic stereo that will do almost everything. I use it mostly for radio and music, its excellent for catching up with BBC Radio Player and all your favourite shows. The amps also make a huge difference if your upgrading a standard stereo, it really adds some oomph to your standard speakers. I don't think i have any bad points for it, it does what it's meant to and Amazon are selling it at such a good price compared to the pioneer and Alpine units, it's a really good deal.

I’ve been using this in a Ford Fiesta for just over 4 months, install was simple and the product has performed well. However recently the volume control for the Tuner (radio) has stopped working. It does however still work within Apple CarPlay, and therefore doesn’t bother me- an updated to software would ideally fix this. Highly recommended in comparison to alternative from Pioneer.

I don't write a ton of reviews, certainly not positive ones but today we make an exception. What a phenomenal piece of kit. I've been on the fence with these for a while and certain reviews have made light of a few problems they experienced. Mine differs greatly. Firstly, you can use the phone while in android auto mode, it works fine and continues to operate. Secondly, Boot up time is faster than the OEM double din it replaced. Quality is second to none. Android Auto fires up instantly with barely any delay, intuitive and fast to navigate around. What really stood out which I wasn't expecting was the increase in sound quality over OEM. The extra wattage pushing out over the speakers makes one hell of a difference. It sounds like a concert inside a little smart car with standard speakers! The only slight thing I do not like is the rubberised top layer on the headunit. You practically breath on it and it will get marked which is a minor frustration but one worth mentioning. For the price though, this is a no brainer, the unit might be getting on a bit but this thing will perform well past 2020. Buy it, you will not regret it.

The head unit itself is fantastic, so it's a 5 stars for that from me. I picked it because its by far the most attractive head unit on the market (very sleek minimalist design, many head units are still stuck in the 90s with a "max power" aesthetic) and has physical buttons for back/forwards and volume. It was very easy to install, if you have a decent amount of experience with car audio, and have purchased the correct ISO harnesses and fascias that you might need. The only issue I had is I couldn't set the HU up initially because it was looking for the parking brake to be applied but just stripping the wire for the parking brake cable and grounding it under a screw on the back of the head unit fixed that (not a problem unique to Sony it has to be said). I ran a USB extension to the centre console of my car and connect my phone there so it's out of view when driving to minimise distractions. I did have a strange problem where the dimmer function wasn't working, despite the wire being connected properly on my ISO harness, but turning up the dashboard dimmer switch slightly resolved the issue (2000 Audi S6, C5 chassis). However, it's worth mentioning that Android Auto is one of the most infuriating pieces of technology I have ever used. It has two main flaws in my eyes that make it almost unusable: 1. A draconian safety feature which limits the user to a maximum of 6 successive taps on the screen, before it locks the user out for around 10 seconds. I could almost get behind this as a safety feature, were it not for the fact that it makes it impossible for your passenger to select any music. This almost resulted in my fiancee ripping the devices out of the car and throwing it out the window when she couldn't search for a track she wanted after trying for 3 minutes and getting this stupid "focus on the road" message. 2. It would be possible to overlook the previous problem if it was possible to connect a passenger's phone with bluetooth, however this is not possible because Android Auto forcibly hijacks the bluetooth audio connection for no good reason. Both of these issues do not exist on Apple's CarPlay, and it's really pushing me towards getting an iPhone, despite preferring Android as a mobile platform and finding iPhones incredibly overpriced

Very Disappointed - the unit’s interface to the steering wheel adapter is faulty so I can’t use my steering wheel controls!! I know it’s not the adapter’s fault because the adapter works fine with another Sony unit. (The adapter is the correct CP2-VAG52). Another problem is that it doesn’t connect properly with my iPhone after starting the car. I have to unplug and plugin again the iPhone for the unit to recognise the phone and show CarPlay, or for the audio to come through. After 2 years of use, with the above problems, the unit now refuses to switch on at all. It’s dead. And I won’t be buying Sony ever again. I’ll replace it with a Pioneer unit; the installer says he’s never had problems with Pioneer. Really annoyed with this Sony.

The fact that it doesn't seem to have a hand brake connection wire means it causes some issues with android auto as it always believes you are driving. Therefore won't let you use the app. Works well with apple car play. Other than that it's a decent stereo for the age of the unit. No dab is something you should think about if you are spending this much money.

Ich habe die Rezesion in zwei Abschnitte unterteilt. Zunächst Einbau/Überlegungen ggf. Hilfreich und abschließend eine Bewertung des Produktes, wobei auch schon im ersten Abschnitt teilweise darauf eingegangen wird. 1. Abschnitt: Das XAV-AX100 wurde von mir in einen Skoda Octavia 2 (1Z Facelift Baujahr 2012/2013) eingebaut und ersetzte das vorhandene „Swing“ Radio. Grundsätzlich ist der Einbau ohne größere Vorkenntnisse machbar. Ich habe seit einigen Jahren kein Radio mehr in ein Auto gebaut, damals half mir noch ein Arbeitskollege und der „Aufwand“ ist heute höher als damals. Der gesamte Einbau hat inklusive Demontage des Swing Radio und verlegen des Mikrofonkabels 1 1/2 Stunden gedauert. Wenn man das häufiger macht geht es bestimmt auch schneller. Man muss aber dazu sagen das der Octavia 2 ein sehr gut zu demontierendes Auto darstellt. Vorab habe ich alle Adapter, den Antennenverstärker und passende Blenden besorgt. Die Funktionen bzw. Möglichkeiten des Radios sind Dokumentiert, hier oder auf der Sony Seite zu finden. Alle beschriebenen Funktionen laufen ohne Probleme (CarPlay) und die Klanglichen Fähigkeiten sind deutlich (!!!) höher angesiedelt im Bezug zum Werksradio (das Swing ist nicht toll, das ist mir bewusst). Die Freisprechfunktion ist gut, der Gesprächspartner versteht mich vorzüglich. Lediglich bei einer deutlich erhöhten Lautstärke des Radios kommt es zu einem Echo Effekt bei dem sich der Gesprächspartner selbst hören kann. Da ich ein Freund von unsichtbaren Installationen bin habe ich folgende Punkte realisiert: A: Position Mikrofon Das Mikrofon wurde durch das Amaturenbrett am Holm hoch zum Dachhimmel und weiter zur Position des Mikrofon Platzes der Original Freisprechanlage gelegt. Meine befürchtung das die Qualität unter dieser Position leiden könnte wurden zum Glück nicht bestätigt. Ich habe zunächst verschiedene Testläufe an unterschiedlichen Positionen durchgeführt und konnte die bevorzugte Plazierung nutzen. Vorteil liegt auf der Hand, Optisch keine Veränderung sichtbar. B: USB Buchse Ich wollte kein Kabel das irgendwo aus einem Spalt kommt. Auch fand ich die Position im Handschuhfach unglücklich. Denn entweder bleibt dann das Fach offen wenn man mal doch das Handy in der Nähe braucht, oder der Empfang leider u.U. wenn man schon einen schlechteren Empfang an Ort XY hat und auf z.B. das Navi angewiesen ist. Zunächst dachte ich daran eine USB Buchse zum Einbau (für Möbel usw) in der Fach oben auf dem Amaturenbrett einzubauen. Verwarf allerdings die Idee, weil dann auch hier wieder die Klappe offen sein müsste und ich befürchtete das bei geschlossener Klappe evtl Hitze ein Problem werden könnte. Aschenbecher schien ideal, aber der Platz ist zu gering. Ich entschied mich für die Positionierung der Buchse seitlich auf der Beifahrerseite, vor dem Handschuhfach und die Verwendung einer „Klemm“ Handy Halterung leicht unter dem Radio auf der rechten Seite. In Verbindung mit einem kurzen USB Kabel besteht hier keine Gefahr das die Verkabelung beim Betrieb stört und der Empfang ist gewährleistet. Auch steht einem das Handy weiterhin zur Verfügung. Die Installation ist natürlich vom Fahrzeug abhängig. In meinem Fall ging alles sehr leicht von der Hand. Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden. Ich habe nur den Vergleich zu meinem A6 Avant 4F und die Werksseitige Business Lösung. Klanglich bin ich wirklich überrascht über die Fähigkeiten des Radios! Da der Octavia der Familien Wagen meiner Frau ist, sehe ich die jetzige Lösung als Ideal an. 2. Abschnitt: Design/Verarbeitung: Ich empfinde die Verarbeitung der Preisklasse entsprechend. Das Material ist gut und grundsätzlich habe ich hier nichts zu beanstanden. Vom Design bin ich überzeugt, unnötige Lichtspiele oder Tastengräber sind nicht vorhanden. Hier etwas zu bemängeln halte ich für eine Geschmacksfrage. Oberfläche Menü: Durchdacht, alles ist klar verständlich und hinterlässt keine Fragen, falls einem eine Funktion z.B. unter dem Bereich der Klangeinstellungen nicht ganz klar ist...es gibt eine Anleitung? Diese ist sogar als Print Version enthalten. Das Design der Oberfläche bzgl. CarPlay und Google Drive ist vom jeweiligen Anbieter abhängig. Hier von Altbacken oder ähnlichem zu sprechen hat erst mal nicht viel mit dem Sony zu tun. Die Geschwindigkeit ist ohne Verzögerung beim Bedienen gut. Klang: schwerer Part, in meinem Fall dem Werksradio Haushoch überlegen. Auch die von Werk verbauten Lautsprecher profitieren unheimlich von dem Radio. Die Freisprech Funktion ist ohne Abstriche zumindest hier zu bewerten, es ist alles klar Verständlich und das Gegenüber versteht einen genauso gut. Insgesamt kann ich dem Gerät nur 5 Sterne geben. Wenn ein CarPlay oder Google Drive fähiges Radio gesucht wird kann hier nach meinem Empfinden zugreifen. Falls Fragen zum Einbau bestehen helfe ich gerne.

Ho acquistato il prodotto da circa 2 mesi ed ho deciso di recensirlo ora dopo un approfondito utilizzo. Ho scelto questo autoradio Android Auto rispetto ai suoi concorrenti (come il JVC KW-M730BT oppure Kenwood DMX7017BTS) per un offerta lampo a 289 Euro e devo dire che non me ne sono pentito; appena l'ho installato la prima cosa che ho riscontrato è un audio performante senza aver eseguito alcun settaggio (non è un aspetto da sottovalutare in quanto avere molte impostazioni come i suoi concorrenti JVC KW-M730BT oppure Kenwood DMX7017BTS significa che non tutti gli utenti possono essere capaci a trovare l'audio ottimale) Altri vantaggi di questo autoradio sono: - schermo opaco che non riflette la luce (aspetto fondamentale in un autoradio 2 DIN considerando la facilità con cui la luce riflette nell'abitacolo) - la porta USB consente di ricaricare velocemente il proprio smartphone; - livello audio controllabile tramite manopola (molto comodo); - tasti fisici per scorrere le stazioni radio avanti e indietro (quando si utilizza Android Auto è possibile quindi cambiare stazione radio senza dover uscire da Android Auto) - tasti fisici per scorrere le canzoni (sia se si ascolta la musica in streaming tramite Android Auto che tramite l'autoradio) - la manopola del volume consente tramite pressione di avviare la dettatura vocale oppure di cambiare oppure disattivare la sorgente Audio (Sintonizzatore oppure Android Auto) In fase di installazione avevo collegato una prolunga USB femmina all'uscita dell'autoradio; il cavo troppo lungo non consentiva il corretto avvio di Android Auto dal telefono. Collegando direttamente il cavo del telefono all'autoradio ho risolto il problema. A tutti gli utenti che si avvicinano per la prima volta ad Android Auto consiglio di consultare il forum ufficiale di android-auto dove si può ricevere supporto direttamente dagli altri utenti. Non posso che consigliare questo autoradio in quanto grazie ad Android Auto avrete tutte le funzionalità principali del vostro telefono sull'autoradio ossia: - Navigazione tramite Maps oppure Waze - Ascolto musica in streaming tramite Google Play Musica oppure altre app compatibili come Amazon Music (se la tua app musicale non è compatibile con Android Auto puoi installare AnyAutoAudio che ti consentirà di ascoltare sull'autoradio tutte le app musicali che sono in esecuzione sulla barra di notifica del tuo telefono, come ad esempio Tim Music) - Ascolto degli sms oppure messaggi What's up ricevuti con possibilità di risposta dettata vocalmente; - Possibilità di richiedere a google domande del tipo "che tempo fa oggi" oppure "quali sono le notizie principali di oggi" e google ti riprodurrà le informazioni richieste sull'autoradio. Mi dimenticavo che questa autoradio è compatibile anche con i dispositivi Apple tramite la funzione Car Play. Gli unici difetti sono: - un manuale d'uso un pò sintetico (per chi è digiuno delle funzioni di Android Auto però in rete si trova di tutto) - il sintonizzatore FM è un pò sensibile, ossia alcune volte cerca di cambiare la frequenza forse per trovare il segnale migliore per la stazione desiderata; questo comportamento però avviene raramente in una città come Roma dove il segnale è sempre abbastanza potente.

J'ai beaucoup lu tous les commentaires etc... sur ce poste avant de l'acheter. J'étais assez pessimiste. Maintenant que je l'ai reçu et installé je vais vous faire un vrai retour... Ca va être un peu long mais prenez le temps de lire je pense que ça vous guidera dans votre choix. Je rajouterai des photos plus tard. Concernant l'achat de ce poste : je suis tombé dessus car il y avait une offre de remboursement de Sony de 80€ sur ce poste, et sur Amazon, je le guettais. il est tombé à 197€ (sans lecteur DVD). donc après ODR il me reviendrait à moins de 120€, ce qui est, franchement, imbattable pour un poste 2DIN de marque. Donc je me suis lancé dedans. J'ai une Avensis T25, donc comme tout autoradio d'origine, j'ai démonté. Acheté une facade 2DIN pour pouvoir loger mon nouvel autoradio, acheté des câbles ISO également, ainsi qu'une série de câbles pour récupérer les commandes au volant. 20€ la facade 2DIN (livrée avec les câbles ISO) 30€ les câbles commande au volant (cherchez bien et ne vous faites pas avoir par ceux à 80€) Une fois tout ça reçu j'installe. Un petit souci : le cache de l'autoradio (cache noir qui entoure vraiment la facade de l'autoradio) ne convient pas, il est trop large pour la facade 2DIN de la Avensis. Du coup j'en ai pris une autre, après avoir mesuré les dimensions, pour ma Avensis. 9€ en plus. - Pour installer, c'est simple...Tout est expliqué et coule de sources. Y'a deux adaptateurs à mettre derrière pour le son et l'alimentation. - Pour utiliser android auto, il va vous être demandé de brancher le cable vert (derriere le poste), au cable de frein à main (car android auto veut que le frein à main soit tiré lors de la premiere connexion). Pour résoudre ça, très simple. Accrochez ou encore mieux, soudez rapidement le fil vert à une masse, un boulon, moi je l'ai soudé à la cage qui maintenait mon autoradio + ma clim. Elle est en acier. Grâce à ça, vous pourrez même lire les vidéos en roulant car il détectera que la masse est toujours là (comme si le frein à main était tjr tiré). - Egalement, si vous souhaitez que le poste baisse en luminosité le soir (quand vous allumez vos feux) vous devrez connecter un câble derrière à vos contacts de feux, ou encore plus simple, à votre contacteur allume cigare, seulement si votre allume cigare s'allume le soir, - Brancher la rallonge USB (car le port usb est derrière le poste), et la faire passer par ex. dans la boite à gants. - Brancher le micro derrière et le faire passer où vous souhaitez, un double face est livré avec ainsi qu'un support pour le mettre par ex. sur votre pare soleil. - Ensuite y'a plus qu'à l'allumer. Certains ont rencontré des problèmes comme quoi leur poste ne s'éteignait pas en même temps que le contact mais moi je n'ai pas eu ce problème. - Il est vrai qu'il met un peu de temps à s'allumer, un peu plus de 10 secondes. Et le message où on est obligé d'appuyer sur OK apparait. MAIS il y a une solution à cela. Il suffit de faire la dernière mise à jour du logiciel de l'autoradio et ce message disparait tout seul au bout de 5 secondes... RDV sur le site officiel du produit, faire la MAJ est très simple, télécharger l'archive, décompresser, copier coller sur clé usb. Brancher sur le poste, terminé. - Sinon le fait qu'il mette un peu plus de 10 secondes à s'allumer, moi ça me gêne pas du tout...Je veux dire, j'allume mon moteur, jcommence à partir, et là le poste commence à mettre la musique. Pas besoin d'être ULTRA exigeant dessus...C'est du chipotage pour moi. - Pour les commandes au volant : j'avais seulement VOL+ et VOL- qui fonctionnaient au début.... en fouillant et en lisant le manuel, dans les options du poste en fait, on peut attribuer les fonctions du poste au bouton qu'on souhaite. Et mes boutons TRACK > et TRACK < n'étaient pas attribués , c'était juste ça à faire. - il y a un égaliseur graphique pas mal. et un mode bass extra (qui booste les basses). pas mal, ça aide pour les enceintes d'origine. - Le son est clair et je n'ai relevé aucun problème. - Via clé usb, la lecture est rapide. Si vous mettez toutes vos chansons à la racine de la clé usb : le poste détectera 999 chanson max. Par contre, si vous crééz plusieurs dossiers dans cette clé, et que vous mettez 999 chanson max par dossier, il les détectera toutes. Egalement, contrairement à ce que j'ai pu lire, le mode ALEATOIRE se fait bien sur TOUS LES DOSSIERS et non pas que sur un dossier. ce que je trouve bien pour ma part, car je veux qu'il lise toutes mes chansons de chaque dossier (vu que dans mes chansons tout est mélangé). - Si vous souhaitez lire seulement un dossier, c'est possible, mais de ce que j'ai pu voir et faire, on ne peut pas demander de lecture aléatoire sur un seul dossier quand plusieurs dossier sont présents. - Android auto c'est une tuerie. Essayez le vous pourrez plus vous en passer...tout se controle à la voix. - Le micro est de bonne qualité on nous entend bien. Bon voilà mon ressenti, si jamais y'a besoin n'hésitez pas et mettez un like si mon roman vous a plu...

Ottima davvero! Presa per integrare sia Android Auto che Apple Carplay nella mia auto, ho evitato le "cinesate" per scegliere un prodotto di qualità. La manopola del volume la rende molto ergonomica. Lo schermo opaco evita fastidiosi riflessi sotto la luce, ed è visibilissimo anche in pieno giorno. Tantissime regolazioni per la parte audio e disponibilità di aggiornamento del firmware lo rendono un prodotto completo. Non ha il frontalino estraibile, pensateci se lasciate l'auto incustodita per strada. Per l'installazione mi sono affidato a un professionista. Ho acquistato a parte slitta e mascherina doppio din, indispensabili per evitare "buchi" sulla plancia.
