Great tool, make sure you have a corded drill
My Bosch Lawnmower has been snatching the grass out of the lawn. A combination of dry weather and what I now know were VERY blunt blades. This works a dream. Took me about 5-10 minutes to sharpen my lawnmower blades, spade, edging tool, and a knife I use in the garden. The edge is quite basic, not something for kitchen knives, but it very quickly put a nice new edge on my mower, taking the edge past a few chips and scrapes. The sharpness was definitely evident and it will cut your skin, but I wouldn't put it as razor sharp. I went over it again with a whetstone to add some fineness, but not sure if it was needed.Either way, when I cut my lawn next I was definitely surprised at the different made. The mower was much quieter and didn't struggle with long clumps. Also the stripes put in have lasted a few days now, something that wasn't happening before. Most importantly, the grass has clearly been cut rather than snatched, and the blade is nice and sharp still. My edging tool also gave good results, with much more of a slicing sound when used, and needing alot less foot pressure to dig in.All in all really happy with this as it sets the angle for you.

Good quality
Excellent product. Fits to drill & has been durable for the jobs I've used it with.

Suitable for small equipment and mowers
The product itself seems really well made, robust and priced well. The problem is that you need to be right height underneath the blade with decent clearance below to get in a good enough position to get on with the job. Not easy if you try it on a lawn tractor, probably me being a bit keen, but fine on a lawnmower ( just so long as you tilt on the correct side to avoid an oil spill) or blades firmly attached to your workbench. As for grinding power I think that depends on your drill and wrist strength. An angle grinder is probably quicker but this is less dramatic but a whole deal slower but not as slow as a grinding stone. I’ll persist with this one and update as I think there’s a technique to it.Update: if your blades relatively sharp it’s fine for maintenance but if your blades are blunt it takes ages to get anything approaching sharp. Probably best for smaller items.

This is the quickest way to sharpen mower blade
I bought this a few years ago but lost it somewhere, so I had to purchase it again. My blade is curved, but nonetheless it is still the simplest and quickest way to sharpen it.Just remember, to remove it from the mower. I read other reviews and some attempted to do it with the blade being still attached. You are asking for serious injury, use common sense, it doesn't take much time to remove it.Once secured, preferably in the vice or work table, it can be sharpened, and the process takes less than 10 minutes. And unlike someone wrote elsewhere, it works with battery powered drills, just don't press too hard on the blade. This way, you have much better control over the entire process. The final result is very good. I mow my lawn twice a week, so typically I sharpen my blade once or twice a year depending on and its wear. For the price, it is the best sharpener, period.

Great job sharpening lawn mower
Worked well in sharpening my rotary mower blades using cordless drill. It is important to follow the instructions so as not to wedge the blades into the sharpener. You need to pull the grinder against the blade rather than push it into the wedge. I suspect other reviews where plastic guide broke or wouldn't work with cordless drill were because of this. I had to tilt the grinder as as the blade angle was not the same as the grinding wheel. This is described in the instructions. The trick here is not to let the plastic guide wheel make too much contact with the blade otherwise it will snag and the grinder will jump. Ensure you are pulling the grinder against the blade and that the guide disk is only lightly brushing against the blade. Made easy work of sharpening very blades.

Essential tool to keep garden tools sharp
I bought a different tool to sharpen the garden tools. However it did not work!So from common sense a grinding tool with clever angle, easy to use- does good the job and I was able to sharpen all tools within 1.5 hrs.I was especially pleased with grass edger and lawn mover. Both were given a new lease of life. I found lawnmower blade had to be taken off to do it properly. It saved me £150 as we were going to replace the items. Edger is as good as new.Instructions were okay but not great, you can work out the angle for sharpening the tools. Just follow the same angle as old one on the tool.Good value for money and quality product.Recommend to wear a good pair of gloves.Excellent quality.

Not up to the job.
Not really up to the job - just a toy, really. The components are not man enough (plastic where there should have been steel), although the grind stone is good quality.Sorry folks, look elsewhere.
