Wax for Coats and Clothes, Anti-Tear and Waterproof 200 ml

Refreshed a Belstaff jacket with this product . Thebout cime looks good, although I’ve not been out in the rain yet to check waterproofing yet. Method of application. Find someone to help you!! I covered the kitchen table with polythene off a roll used to cover floors etc when decorating, it resembled a scene from Dexters kill room, but it did save the table from getting wax on it. We have a hot stone massage set, so I utilised the ‘bath’ you put the stones in to keep the wax warm, this made the job much easier. How many times you’d have to fill the kettle to keep it warm I do not know, but the whole process took 1.5 hours. We used a hair dryer to keep the wax working when applying with a small sponge (bought off amazon, sold as a pottery sponge). We took time to ensure all seams had sufficient attention, and then started on the pockets before venturing to the larger panels. With two people one can hold the garment and sponge the wax in, whilst the other can make sure the wax remains warm enough with the hair dryer to apply. Overall it’s a relatively easy process, but I would definitely recommend hair dryer and two people. Good luck

Did my Barbour jacket great.

Bought this product for my Barbour waxed jacket that was long overdue for a makeover. I wear it as a fashion jacket so dont come into contact with thorns and its never got wet, it was just looking dull and tired. The wax is in a medium size tin, i followed previous reviews on Amazon about how to use it, it was fairly straight forward, stood the tin in hot water till it had melted then applied the wax with a kitchen sponge, its really easy to apply and you dont need a lot, the tin will last ages as I barely used any, dont be put off with the greasy feeling it leaves behind, i left the jacket overnight to dry at room temperature, next morning, wow, my jacket looks brand new, all glossy and shiny, no greasy feeling, my jacket has a lot of gold zips and buttons so there was a little bit of wax that had set round them but i just blasted it off with a hairdryer and wiped with a microfibre cloth, job done, my jacket looks amazing.

Firstly, this is the only thing you should be using to reproof your Barbour, it only loses a star as the tin was pretty bashed up. I've used this before, it's messy and time consuming, but is the best thing for treating your Barbour jacket. If you haven't done it before, watch the video on YouTube, put down plenty of coverings, and use a hairdryer to finish it up.

If you have used this before, then you know how messy it can get. BUT it's worth every penny. (I'm sure it will work on other 'waxed' garments). But I have several Barbour coats and I have to say, they come up like new when you apply this stuff. A couple of my coats are 15+ years old but after applying this look and feel brand new. As I say though it can be messy. Make sure you pick the right weather and dry thoroughly or you will have the wax feeling on your hands for days. GREAT PRODUCT. But check a few videos on YT beforehand if you haven't used it before.

A very small tin, only enough for one and a half coats. Fiddly to use as the wax has to be melted. They say to put the can in a bowl of hot water in a warm place but I ended up using a new little washing up sponge, scooped around the tin, blasted with the hairdryer, then dabbed onto the coat randomly and then smoothed over and worked in with one hand whilst holding the hairdryer in the other. That worked. It takes a long time. Whether it’s waterproof or not, time will tell, (5 stars assumes it is) but it’s restored the coat very well. Husband is impressed. Very expensive for what it is - it looks very much like ordinary candle wax and it’s a small tin.
