I purchased this can crusher 2 months ago and the handle sheared. Only used it for occasional use, what is the warranty period?

On majority of goods it is 12mths. You should contact the buyer and explain your dissatisfaction and ask for a free replacement. We use ours 3-4 times a week on soft drink cans and occasionally beer cas without any problems. It could be a faulty one. Good luck.

Will this crush a 500ml Heineken sized beer can?

no, i find it will only crush a 330ml size cans, it wont crush tins either.

Could I mount it outside?

Yes. Can be mounted anywhere but will last longer when out of direct sun and rain.

Does it have to be wall mounted

yes, because of the pressure needed to pull the handle down onto the cans it is definitely best to wall mount it
