Painting Realistic Landscapes in Pastel - Skies

Why in God's name does she keep calling her pastels "paint?" Anyway, an interesting approach to pastel training and by the way...excellent video work. Not a snoozer like so many others I have seen in the past from other artists. A little mis-priced, in my opinion. I think she could sell more in bulk if she rethought her pricing strategy down to $15.00. However, with that said, nice work and well done by a true master at her craft.

Firstly, I'm a beginner. I have to agree with the other review that this product is well over-priced. I liked the pointers for the aerial perspective and breaking the painting into quadrants to draw but that's was about it. She made several mistakes in choosing her colors in the value and color section and I came away knowing no more. She spends a second on lost and found edges and so I came away again with nothing. The real kicker is that the demonstration painting is way too complex and that is all you get in this demonstration video. I have learned more on how to create clouds and sky features from YouTube videos that are free.

Superb DVD by an excellent artist and teacher.

I have taken many classes in pastel painting. This DVD by Liz Haywood-Sullivan beats them all. Her DVD thoroughly explains everything you need to know in order to recreate her demonstration piece and/or enhance your own original artwork. This DVD even helped me with my drawing and oil skills. EXCELLENT DVD - highly recommend it and her other two DVDs.
