Wish it was 40W but overall very happy with quality and functionality!
Firstly the description on Amazon states that its both 32W & 40W which as we all know is not possible, it is 32W and whilst it is adequate for my 25’x15’ room, none of the ambient whites (4) has me thinking that I might ever want to dim them, the opposite is truer in that I’m wanting just that bit more on occasion i.e. 40W LED would be the best option! Quality wise I love my silver model and the silver parts that I assumed were lightweight plastic are in fact brushed aluminium making it heavier than I imagined, but not overlay so. The box it came in was perfect like new and the lamp itself also perfect. You spin the bottom metal disc to remove the bottom part to access the electrical and ceiling fitting part, do not undo the nut and washer on the other side, this is not clear when you look at the lamp. The lamp and electrical connecting cables has been designed by a company that thinks in that there is more than sufficient cable to connect to once you bring your existing ceiling cables through the provided hole. Overall I made a good choice and I also bought a cover (Samotech SM200) for the existing wall switch from Amazon which is perfect to fit the remote to and stops anyone using the existing light switch, but if my wireless fails anytime my wife can clip off the remote to access the original switch easily! Results with it connected to the hue bridge and Alexa is ‘Alexa living room light off’ Also got a standard lamp and mirror light and all the Tv stuff on Amazon smart plugs so at night my wife just says ‘ Alexa Goodnight’ and it all turns off including the two Philips smart bulbs in the kitchen.

Nice stylish slimline ceiling fitting
I recently installed the ‘Being’ ceiling light and thought I’d share my thoughts. It’s a clamshell construction, the top (hidden) metal plate housing what struck me as pretty much a lightstrip that runs around the inner rim. This top plate is perforated and fitted with diffusers and stands off from the ceiling by about 1cm thus illuminating the ceiling too.The lower part of the fitting comprises a frame fitted with diffusers that allow light through the sides and bottom, the whole being held together with a nice brushed anodised aluminium plate with a threaded centre which you unscrew to open the fitting.Other reviewers have commented on the construction being flimsy but I’m quite pleased with what I found. Since I was replacing a traditional hanging pendant I left the ceiling rose, removed the cover so leaving the ceiling mounted wired terminals and simply stood the Phillips fitting off slightly more than is intended to just clear the 15mm or so of the rose. Three 30 cm new wires L,N & E were all that was required to link the rose terminals to the interior terminals of the fitting. As supplied, it comes with a Hue dimmer switch with which it is already paired. I added the fitting to my Hue App but I had to enter the serial number which is inside the fitting. In use I find its brightness adequate for my 2m x 3m room. Larger rooms may require two. It’s very controllable, dimming to almost nothing, and the full bright cool white is ‘energising’.Sceptical, I was careful to keep all packing ready for it to be returned but I have to say I like it a lot. Mine was the silver option - there are others.

Philips Hue White Ambiance Being 40 W Connect
I have recently installed this just a few days ago, but when I first looked at it after I opened it I was quite disappointed with the manufacture and quality of it. I thought it was quite cheap looking, compared with similar ones I have installed in my home, and it was at first very fiddly to do.it has to be drilled and raw plugged to the ceiling and if you don't get the joists first time, chances are you will have to re-drill and try to cover up the holes with light fitment and fill them. Not an easy task to begin with, as you have to keep feeding the cables from the ceiling through the fitment each time. You have to completely disassemble the fitment to put it up, and if you forget to put the middle screw support with self tightening washer and nut back on, you're left having to take it back off the ceiling to put them back on. Not easily explained in the instructions. The rest of it spins onto the spindle and tightens up. It looks great once it is up.The light settings on the light are great. Reading, Energize, Relax, Concentrate. The remote is simple yet very effective and can also be hung on the wall like a dimmer switch, but detachable because it's magnetic from the backing plate. It's bright enough for the average (15' x 15') room approximately, but that is only my estimate. It's compatible with Philips Hue but as I only installed mine a few days ago I haven't set it up with Hue yet, so I will probably add a further update when I have. But I do have other lights on the Hue and I don't have any problems with them.

Pairs easily with Alexa but annoying you have to buy a bridge for that too
Not cheap if you consider the price of the bridge you need to buy if you want to use it with Alexa is the only slight niggle I have. Very easy to fit as a replacement for my pad ceiling light. Works as a security device as I can schedule loads of on and off sequences and colours so at least create the impression somebody is home! I like that I can have different on off sequencing for different days too. So all in all it seems to be a good product for me and I really do like the gradual increase of brightness for the wake up. Have 2 now going to by another and fit on the landing.
