Far exceeded my expectations - A great set of features for the price
I really wasn’t expecting much when I bought this T.V. but it has really exceeded my expectations. I think a good quality set should last you a minimum of 5 years, so generally speaking I tend to go for the higher end brands. My main living-room set has easily done double that time now but cost well over £1000 when new. I have bought cheaper brands in the past for the kitchen or kids bedrooms when they were younger, but as this was going in our bedroom it would have to be pretty close to the living-room in both size and quality. Once our old set packed up I went through 3 different T.V’s in as many months that were all around the £500-600 mark and was becoming very frustrated. Time and money was not on my side so I thought I’d have a look at the Black Friday deals. I knew I wanted an android based TV but was worried that this would push me into the higher price bracket again. I had looked at a few sets similar to this one that ran either FireTV OS or Android TV but the price had me worried about performance, these cheaper T.V’s tend to have low power processors making the operating system almost unusable. But the reviews were generally positive and the money had started to dwindle, so I thought it’s got to be worth a punt and Amazons return policy has me covered. To say that this T.V. surpassed my expectations would be an understatement. I really did not expect to still have it longer than a few weeks, but we are fast approaching a full year without any issues. The T.V. itself has a basic design, it fits fine in the bedroom in an unassuming manor, but when lifting it up there’s a definite lightness and cheap plastic feel. The remote control is the first indication that this T.V. punches well above its weight, it’s a sleek and well thought out design with some popular app shortcuts. During setup I was quite surprised at how snappy everything seemed, I had some concerns that it would slow down over time as more apps etc. are added, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I did disable some of the TCL apps and auto functions and only signed in to the apps I knew I would be using regularly. After 11 months everything is still running quite snappy. The picture and sound quality are also great for the price point 4K and HDR10 make for a great viewing experience. I’m currently running a SkyQ box through it and everything is crisp and sharp. Usually it’s the sound department where these cheaper sets usually fall down and require the use of a sound bar, but I’m more than happy with the quality and output levels and don’t feel the need for extra sound for use in the bedroom. Overall I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s really handy having everything built in eliminating the need for additional boxes and remotes. Everything about this T.V. has been better than expected and for features vs price point and I would definitely look at TCL again in the future.

Ignore the bad reviews... It's great!
I purchased this to upgrade my gaming setup after buying a PS5. A 27/32 inch gaming monitor costs hundreds and hundreds of pounds these days... So started looking at TVs. This set is a bargain. You can see from the footage of GT7 running at max graphics that the panel produces a great picture. The set arrived well packaged without any signs of damage. It appears that in 2023 the was a damaged batch being delivered (2024 reviews don't see this quoted). I've tried to show that the remote was responsive and the menus are straight forward. It can have a little picture judder if you max out the frame rate and raytracing on a lightning fast game such as Death loop... But only if your spinning the camera in 360s and really looking out for it. The set up was automated step by step and it was up and running in minutes. There are limited but useful sound and visual settings and apps work well. The processor is not very powerful so clear your caches every now and then to optimise running speed. To be honest I don't use the smart features as the playstation runs my media or I use a fire cube 3. My LG in the lounge cost way more and the picture is nowhere near as good as the TCL. All of the TVs main functions can be automated or voice controlled from any Echo/Google Home device in your room... The remote doesn't have voice control...be aware (but the set supports 3rd party remotes with android voice input). There is almost no bezel and it's really light weight so does add excessive load to my gaming desk (already has a racing sim setup so this was great). I bought a center stand as it follows the annoying (in my opinion) trend of widely spaced feet at either end. If it's going on a large TV until this isn't an issue. It has wall mounting fittings for attaching it that's your thing. The remote is slim and, contrast to some reviews, doesn't feel cheap. The thing is absolute gold for the price tag. If you're looking for a quality picture at a reasonable price... This will do the job nicely. There are 4 HDMI ports, USB, optical out for sound and a headphones jack (I use this to an RGB gaming speaker I've attached to my gaming chair... And the sound can be tweaked to sound great). The on board speakers are good enough to enjoy as a bedroom TV... But if you like your sound more cinematic you probably already own the speakers you want to use! There is also a remote control app that works well enough for phone control. I'm chuffed to bits with this set!

Really low energy
The absolute best thing about this telky is the energy usage. 31kw!!!! My old led 42" used 160kw. Imagine that! Great picture. Great sound. Havent yet managed to tune into BBC, ITV, Channel 4 or 5 but that may be my Ariel. I'm getting a bunch of other channels and so far haven't missed BBC one bit. Like all LED TV's it's extremely light and care should be taken when touching the screen. My criticisms are the stand and the remote. Those 'wide apart' legs meant I've had to buy a massive stand for it. Too big for the room bit I don't want the TV on the wall. Also the remote was a joke. The buttons are weeny, too close together, and impossible to see. (Left in the photo) It's just over an inch wide so I spent most evenings looking for it. I gave up and bought a universal one that I can see. It's a bit slow to load and will take a moment to connect. I've just bought a 32"panasonic for the kitchen that immediately loaded all the channels front the same Ariel and starts up immediately. Would I but this TV again? Not if I could match the super low energy rating or shelf price.

Great budget TV
Arrived today, the TV (43 inch model) is very light weight and almost bezeless, picture is clear and sharp, UHD works perfectly as does HDR10+. Android TV very easy to set up if you have an android phone. Going by other reviews I was on the fence about this product but I've been very impressed so far, I had to tinker with sound settings (wall mount setting seems better even tho I'm using it on a TV stand). All apps working and loading quickly for me, there is a touch of input lag whilst using on screen keyboard but my previous LG TV was the same... Voice commands work via mobile phone app or you'll need to buy another remote with a microphone. In regards to others saying apps were loading slowly etc, the TV has about 2GB of RAM so if you've opened a lot of apps and went back home and opened another etc this will still use resources in the background... A way around this is to occasionally go into the android TV settings menu and go to apps and then click on apps you've been using and "force stop" them freeing up RAM for other operations. TV worked well with my Xbox Series, no lag problems for me whilst playing fifa and other games. Overall for the money, it's superb value.

Lasted 7 months before the panel died
All round for a budget TV, it is what it is, I wouldn't game on it for sure. I bought this as a TV for our bedroom so didn't need to be spectacular, sound and picture are good for the price (note for the price). Menu is somewhat clunky and apps do take time to load, as does a firestick which is painfully slow even on a 4K max, but, it is what it is and this is to be expected for a budget end TV. 7 Months in however, watching youtube the picture slowly faded to a barcode, which is now permanently on. There is sound and the barcode shifts to different shapes as you are trying to access menus, alluding to the fact it is trying. Sound is still there, power cycled, tried different sources and eventually went to Amazon. They setup a 3 way call with TCL which was super customer service from Amazon as usual, TCL however, were not. It took about 60 seconds for the guy on the phone to say, "yeah we can't do anything, here's a reference for amazon". Anyhoo, contacted amazon with the ref number, arrange a return and refund (apparently they can't offer a replacement or alternative product for some reasons, which I asked). I advised that I did not have the original box and they said I can just bubble wrap the TV. I bubble wrapped the TV but put it in a makeshift box. Apparently it will now take up to a month for them to process the return (Royal Mail sent me confirmation and a photo of it in their warehouse 24 hours later, at my expense). I contacted live chat for confirmation and they could not confirm, they said to contact them if it isn't processed within a month. Disappointing but again, it is what it is, now, we have no TV in the bedroom and I'm many hundreds of pounds down. Buy this TV at your own risk, for what it is, it's great value for money, I would not buy this for a primary TV. Would I buy another TCL, i'm not sure but we will see what happens with this process.

Can't fault this TV at all for the price !
I purchased the 65" TV to replace an aging Samsung 60" plasma tv. Overall, it is a very good/excellent TV when you consider the price, features and overall quality. The only negative is that, coming from an old plasma TV, where the blacks are, well, black, this has moments where you can see light bleed through in dark scenes, but that is it, a slightly minor point. The positives are lots, very good 4k picture, great colour balance and brightness, fast refresh (enough for 4k PS5 play), the smart TV features are smooth and not slow (not zippy fast, but fast enough) and the fact that its Android means you can load plenty of other apps, no problem. The speaker are good enough for game play, but not enough for big cinema sound (best to get a surround system). It is very light, making it easy to use a visa mount with and has a metal back panel, overall well made too. Also, the remote is very good, high quality and well made with all the features you could ask for. Overall, I cannot fault it, I had not really heard of TCL before this, so took a gamble, but pleased I did.

Slow and unresponsive
Was pleased with the price and picture quality, but not with how slow and glitchy it is running Netflix and similar - wish we'd sprung for a pricier model
