Katie In London : Mayhew, James: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: A delightful story with a magical tour of London - A delightful children's story. Even years later, when visiting London, my granddaughter picks out the sights mentioned in the book. Review: Another lovely Katie story. - Used as a starting point for a topic on London. It was a great introduction to the key sites built into an entertaining story. My children enjoyed it and it served as an introduction to other Katie stories. They inspired plenty of classroom discussion, writing and art work.

Lovely romp through London's tourist hotspots
This is a terrific book for any child who lives in, or is about to visit, London. A quick romp (sometimes just a fleeting glance, sometimes more exploration) around some of London's best-known tourist attractions, including Trafalgar Square, St Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. It's aimed at slightly older children, but my 2 year old loves it. We were in Trafalgar Square recently and he was thrilled to see the lions on their plinths, just like the lion in the book, and he started talking about all the places the lion visits, so the book clearly caught his imagination. Lovely illustrations of London as well, particularly of the views from the London Eye.

Son like it on trip to London
Good book to prep kids on a trip to London. Only downside was when we went, you couldn't go near the lion statues as there were all taped off!

Most popular book
Pretty much everyone of my nieces and nephews have this book. I am Australian living in London, so it's a great gift to send to kids of family and friends back home. Most of all, the kids learn about London by the iconic images in the book. My 4yo nephew will easy recognise the Trafalgar Square lions, red phone box, black taxi etc. which is great! Thoroughly recommend this book.
