Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) herb with Flowers Naturalma - 150 g - 300 Tablets - Food Supplement - Natural and Vegan

These tablets contain Passiflora Incarnata which is a traditional herbal remedy for anxiety and insomnia. Its reported benefits are supported by a wealth of folklore and anecdotal accounts but, importantly, several controlled scientific studies both with human subjects and animal models. A study compared Passiflora with a well-known pharmaceutical anxiety drug and found that it compared favourably, and with fewer side effects. I suffer from anxiety myself and have taken this herbal preparation for many years, usually to help me sleep. To my mind, it is very helpful, it is non-addictive and has few (if any) side effects at recommended doses. These particular tablets are of good quality and are very reasonably priced. The advertised strength is confusing however: it claims they are 500mg yet, in the instructions, suggests they are 300mg. Don't be too bothered by this as, in common with many herbal medicines, the quality of the preparation can be of more importance than the dose. In my view, these are quality tablets and compare well with others costing many times more. The tablets are round, medium sized and fairly easy to swallow. They suggest a daily dose of 2-4 tablets. Although my instinct is to wholeheartedly recommend this product, I must end with the usual caveat/disclaimer that you should seek medical advice before taking herbal medicines, especially if you are on prescribed medication.

I use this alongside either my insomnia medication or melatonin to make the sedative affects stronger; works a treat.

I take a couple each night, really takes away any stress and is a great way to unwind. I find it’s not quite as sedating as valerian, more relaxing and doesn’t make you groggy the next morning.
