Is this magnetic enough? Some reviews say no... so is this garbage???

It looked like enough but it was just a bit too wide for the groove in my shower door or for some reason wouldn't slide down into the groove. I might try to just push it in but my son was trying the way that it said to install it. I'm getting a new shower anyway so I hadn't fooled with it anymore.
