Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A1 Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Microphone - Black

The sound this little portable speaker creates is simply amazing! Well rounded with a bass response that’ll shock you for its size.I have to say I personally think Bang and Olufsen create one of the best sounds I’ve heard, I especially like how lifelike the vocals and the instruments come through their systems and for such a small speaker, it still achieves this.The sound is very big, like unbelievable for its size, if your worried about tinny sound it’s a million miles away from producing sound like that despit the small size. it would easily fill most standard room sizes and would make a perfect little speaker for most bbq’s and beach trips, another great feature is the water resistance, so no worries when at the beach.The build quality is what you’d also expect and feels very “posh” in the hands and I’d imagine it could take a few bumps and scratches without hindering the sound or life expectancy of this device, B&O even claim it can take a few bumps and scratches!I also own the the B&O Beolit 17, which is just phenomenal, you pay for it though and I understand that paying £400+ is a lot of money so if you couldn’t afford it my next recommendation would be the A1 without a doubt.Keep an eye out on amazon as the price changes very frequently for A1, I managed to snap one up for around £150 saving over £70, so keep an eye out!There are some beautiful colours that are available and the A1 is a piece of art in its self.As for battery life I’m yet to comment but obviously don’t expect 24 hours whilst blasting it, I’d say it will easily last any occasion or gathering but I will update this in a few months.UPDATE - Battery is excellent, on the beach with the wind and sound of the waves the volume was between half and 3 quarters, which would easily last a day at the beach around these volumes, due to being a small portable speaker you have to crank the volume up Abit when outside at places such as the beach but it takes it with ease and no lose in the quality of sound either when playing good quality music, if you’re looking for a speaker that will be for a beach party and requires big volume and need to throw the music further then I’d suggest saving for the Beolit 17 instead.I’ve even used this connected to a smart tv for Movies and it is a great improvement from the tv speakers too.I understand this is a very expensive product and if you have any doubt even after all the high praised reviews go to a dealer like a B&O shop or Apple shop to hear it for yourself and I’m confident it’ll make you want to buy it more!

I love music, in fact I can't live without it, if I'm not listening to it, I have a song/tune in my head pretty much 24/7, which is why I was ecstatic when I unwrapped this on Christmas Day morning - me and my husband use the same Prime account making present buying possibly troublesome if not for the "hide order" option. Great idea Amazon!Onto the speaker, it really is very nice to look at. It's a good weight also, very robust however the options on the side could be hard to see if you don't have particulary good eyesight. For me this isn't a problem however my husband cannot see it as clearly as myself. The sound really is 360, no matter where you stood, it eminated from the centre of everywhere. The music part though.... Wow, just wow. I pretty much played my whole music collection over a week or so and I was nothing short of gobsmacked. I tried everything: Buckethead, Pink Floyd, The Prodigy, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Santana, The Beatles, New Order, The Stone Roses, NIN... the list goes on. It was fantastic! Particularly when I got to Karen Carpenter and Mama Cass, it was so clear you could hear Karen Carpenter breathing! It took my breath away. The clarity had me in shock when listening to a few of my absolute faves: Bill Conti The Final Bell; John Murphy Sunshine Adagio in D Minor; NIN Hurt; the Stones' Wild Horses; The Stone Roses This Is The One and I Am The Ressurrection; Atmosphere from Joy Division and Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here and they were sublime, so crisp. I finally turned it up to full blast during Sunshine, it was blasting out, shaking our tv yet still so clear, zero distortion whatsoever. These, and so many others, are my absolute favourites to listen to and to hear them so clearly is brilliant!The bass level is fantastic also, not too much however you can certainly hear it. My husband doesn't love music like myself (giving me a few strange looks during my music experimenting!) however even he couldn't help marvel when the Rocky OST came on. I pretty much had to sit on him to stop him skipping during Hearts On Fire! He also heard instruments from the Superman Theme that he had never heard in the 40 years of listening before. I've been playing all types of guitar since I was 12 years old and this would make a great amplifier if possible, however sadly it is not.I apologise for the length and depth of this review however I honestly cannot tell you enough how happy this has made me. I will never buy another piece of sound equipment from any other brand ever again. Thank you B&O, you made Christmas 2018 very special indeed.Mrs M.

I like everything about the sound quality, connectivity, and battery life. The mic works well for Zoom calls too.I find the controls a bit hard to access as they're embedded in the device and visible only as (faint) labels on the surface. But they work fine and as long as it's not dark, I have my glasses, and a bit of patience, no problem!

Excelente bocina, sin duda con precio por arriba de la media pero por diseño y calidad de sonido lo vale.El diseño es precioso, jamás pasa desapercibida, la carga por USB tipo C facilita y acelera las cosas pero su mayor punto a favor es la calidad de sonido, jamás he sido fan de Bosé, excepto quizá por los QC35, y para bocinas habia optado por sonos, tengo en diferentes configuraciones tanto sonos 1 como sonos 5 y comparativamente el sonido de esta pequeña cosa es mucho mejor, hablando en calidad, por supuesto la sonos 5 tiene más salida y por consiguiente más "punch", pero el balance de esta Beoplay 1 en sus medios, graves pero sobretodo los agudos no tienen igual.Tanto me ha gustado que encargue otra para probarlas en stereo y ha valido totalmente la pena.Sin duda su calidad de sonido hará que valga la pena lo pagado.

Easy to use, it connects via Bluetooth or an 1/8 inch jack as used on most earbuds. I like it’s portability and great sound. It has a little more heft to it than the original Bose Soundlink and in my opinion has better sound quality and volume as you might expect with the difference in price. Some people have said that feeling for the on switch is problematic - imagining the 3 o’clock position (cord being at 12) feeling the near flush bottom becomes easier. Visually looking for the on/off symbol requires some light. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Arrivato oggi, trovato ad un prezzo eccezionale qui su Amazon. Accendo e la batteria segna 50%, ascolto per circa 5 ore a volume medio ed ho ancora il 30%, le premesse sono buone, nonostante abbia letto di molti che si lamentano della sua durata. La costruzione è impeccabile, in puro stile B&O e il suono è pazzesco. Dimenticatevi il classico audio “chiuso” e “cupo” delle casse Bluetooth, qui si sente davvero la purezza di tutte le frequenze, senza disdegnare i bassi. Volume altissimo, zero distorsioni, vederlo e ascoltarlo è una gioia per i sensi. Leggevo di qualcuno che aveva il dubbio sull’originalità di alcuni prodotti, se non avete un altro A1 per confrontare il suono (quelli fake suonano molto male), vi basterà connettere la cassa all’app per cellulare di B&O, se verrà riconosciuto il prodotto è originale al 100%.
