Europe and Mediterranean Marine Fish Identification Guide Paperback – 19 Jun. 2015

I live in the south of France and go snorkeling most days. With the help of this book I managed to identify some 13 different species just in front of my local beach. Nice clear photo's and discriptions of size and behaviour. For me the deep sea fish are less interesting but I think it will appeal to fisherman and serious divers.

This really is a great book. I use it to help me identify the fish I see after I have been diving, and the way that the book is laid out, in particular to where you might expect to see them, helps immensely. Certainly the best fish book I've bought, and compares to the UK guide book written by Paul Naylor.My only criticism would be that as it is purely dedicated to fish I had to purchase another book to help me identify the various invertebrates and plants (of which the 'Sea Fishes of the Mediterranean Sea' by Lawson Wood is a brilliant companion).Would definitely recommend it for Scuba divers.

This is an amazing book with loads of detail and photos of every single fish featured. Whether your interest is marine biology, fishing, diving & snorkelling or simply identifying the fish you have purchased from the fishmonger, this book covers it all! I am so impressed by it, I ended up buying a 2nd copy - one to keep on our boat and one to keep at home. It's even fabulous as a coffee table book.It contains descriptions of each fish, habitat, photos, population levels and even whether it is worth eating.

I am really pleased with this book after years of snorkelling in the Med and wanting to know what I see. Only downside is it's hardback, much thicker and heavier than I expected so really too heavy to put in a case unless you are a light packer!

Anyone who enjoys diving or snorkelling in the Mediterranean should buy this book. Anyone who loves fish should buy this book. The photos are excellent, the information is excellent and the book is hugely comprehensive. I love it.

This book has really been helpful to identify fishes in the Med this summer.Would have been great to have a part on shells, crabs and urchins but hey! Another book maybe?

I live in Malta and this book is so useful after a snorkelling day at the beach.Visitors also use it after they have been to the beach and it has easy to recognise photos and written descriptions of the fish we see.

Fantastic book, great information and clear photos of each fish. Information on their habitat, and more. A must for any angler in the Med. Buy this book and you will not need to look for another. As you can tell I am well pleased.
