Fantastic - wish I'd had one years ago.
After recently undergoing extensive dental work in Vietnam I took my dentist's advice and bought one of these Waterpik devices. I have now been using it for a couple of weeks and am delighted to say I have noticed a huge difference. There is a knack to using these things, and after my first attempt during which I showered myself and the bathroom, I watched a couple of short How-to Videos on YouTube.. They suggest pursing the lips around the jet, and releasing the water every few seconds; this is where I went wrong the first time. It really is easy once you know how. Start on the lower setting (there are only two on this model), and once you get used to it, raise the pressure. I use tepid water, as I have sensitive teeth; also, turning the jet (which rotates 360 degrees) towards the back of the reservoir makes it easier to access the front and back of the teeth. I usually brush my teeth before using the Waterpik, and am astonished at how much food debris is removed after using it. The whole thing takes ten minutes at most which is no time at all to devote to good oral hygiene; I wish I'd had one of these years ago. I've used it twice a day, every day for just over a week and haven't had to charge it. I specifically chose the cordless model so I can take it with me wherever I go. For me it's been worth every penny, especially if you break down the cost per day. Update 18th August I've now been using this twice a day for six months, and whilst it does the job I've noticed the battery is not holding its charge for as long as it did. I've been charging it once a week for the past couple of months, but this past week or so there is a definite loss of power after just two or three days. This is disappointing so I am going to contact Waterpik to see what they suggest. Update 19th August Yesterday I had a live chat with Amazon and was immediately offered a replacement which arrived today! Excellent service.

Best teeth product ever bought!!
I bought a Waterpik Cordless WP-450 for myself a couple of weeks ago from the large chemist chain (cheaper on Amazon). I fully charged the unit as per instructions - and the first time I used it I could not believe how clean my mouth felt. All food bits came away easily, and although I did get a little 'wet' the first few times I used it, I'm an expert now. I could never reach my back teeth with normal flossing methods, and this solves that problem. The criticism I read about the 450 are to me completely unfounded. My charge lasted for at least 5 days, and I used it twice every day. But it's no hassle charging it anyway, so why this is a criticism I do now know. Also, some have stated the water tank is too small. Well, I don't think my mouth is any smaller than anyone elses, and I find the amount of water it holds absolutely spot on. Some said it was 'flimsy', of poor quality. It is made of plastic of course, to make it lighter to hold I assume, and I am storing it in a safe place to ensure I don't knock it over by accident - but I can't see why that is a problem. My only slight criticism is it would be good to have an indicator light to show when the unit is fully charged or near to the end of it's charge. This is a slight problem though, and wouldn't say this is a good enough reason not to buy. In fact, I'm so impressed, I've purchased another for my son (birthday present), who has problems flossing as his teeth are quite close together. I know he will be delighted. Please don't take on board the negative reviews. This product is excellent.

Good, recommended alongside normal flossing
Bought to help with keeping a partially erupted wisdom tooth and the surrounding area clean, after a couple of painful bouts of pericoronitis. Positives: The waterpik has been highly effective in this so far, and a month and a half of using it twice daily has kept away the inflammation I'd suffered previously. However, it is worth noting that (somewhat like flossing for the first time in a while) using the waterpik on the inflamed area of gum did result in some bleeding from the area initially, though I found this stopped after 2-3 days. Notes: The waterpik, while good, does not provide sufficiently thorough flossing on its own (at least in my case). I have found a combination of the waterpik and traditional string floss has worked best for me. Using the Waterpik for 5 minutes overall every day has meant that I have found charging it every night has been necessary to maintain the required level of power. A low battery and charging indicator is definitely lacking and would be helpful to include as a basic feature. Recently, my Waterpik recently appeared to lose its more powerful setting, despite sufficient charging. This turned out to be due to a small blockage in the tip, which once cleaned, solved the issue. Overall, a good product which I have found to be very effective, with only a couple of downsides.

Worth the splashes on the mirror!
This is a great gadget! I've always struggled to floss my teeth and am regularly reprimanded by my dentist for not doing it enough, so this flosser has been a lifesaver. Yes, it does splash a bit of water onto the bathroom mirror if you're not careful and, yes, I wouldn't recommend using it whilst wearing a long-sleeve top but these are minor points. As long as you keep your mouth reasonably closed and hold your head over the sink so the water can flow out it isn't difficult to use and the results feel great. You can feel the water jet coming through the gaps in your teeth and can get to all your teeth without any problems. It holds a charge well, is easy to fill and you can do a really good job with 1 or 2 tanks full of water. My dentist advised me this wasn't a replacement for using floss but it has to be better that not flossing, which is mainly what I was doing beforehand!

I had the Waterpik Nano and loved it, the only problem was that it connects to a 2 pin plug point, which can be a problem to many people. Therefore people would rather get the wireless one and they would like to know if it is worth it. I would say just go for other brands that are less expensive than this Waterpik Wireless. As I am using this item currently, I am not impressed. In fact I bought the Hangsung cordless waterflosser before buying this, and after spending 2 weeks with that Hangsung, it wasn't that bad. Problem was mine broke down within 2 weeks of use, and I wrote a comparison review with Hangsung and Waterpik at the Hangsung wireless/cordless waterflosser page. DESIGN I was disappointed with the design because it is actually quite big in size! Also the design is outdated with the flip up/down On Button and Flossing Level switch. You cannot tell when the battery is low, therefore Waterpik needs to update the design and add an LED light. You can easily add a nozzle and rotate to any direction effortlessly! You can detach the water tank in a secure manner, though I don't see the point in doing so. And speaking of detaching the water tank, I was disappointed at the location they placed the hole at. The hole for filling water is located in the middle, making it pointless to fill to the point, despite one of the selling point is that it holds 200ml water. The device though fat in size, but is actually light in weight. FUNCTION You flip the switch to turn on or off, no big deal. It has 2 power flossing levels, lvl 1 and lvl 2. You use lvl 1 if you have weak gums, you use lvl 2 if you have strong gums or you want full power effective flossing. Another annoying thing is that, it is quite jarring when the water is at a low level because the suction cannot pump out water through the nozzle, therefore you have to tilt the waterpik cordless in a certain way. You will need 2 water refills to clean your mouth. It would be HARDER to put mouthwash such as Listerine or Corsodyle to mix with your water, because of the location of the water filling hole as well as the size of the hole. Charging hole is located at the bottom front of the waterpik, and don't worry about electricity because the device is well secured. Just blow out the pin hole before plugging it in socket. USE It comes with 4 different types of nozzles! The main nozzle, the brush head nozzle, braces nozzle with brush (which is my favourite because it's so effective!) and something else I don't know what it does. So far I have used it for a week without charging and it seems to run fine and in full battery, so that's a plus. OVERALL Overall, there really isn't much to this wireless one. I love the nano because you can easily mix mouth wash, and you have lots of water tank size that will clean your mouth in 1 session, though the downsize is that it is wired. The good thing about this product is that it is wireless! Regarding the price, if you can get it cheaper than the other Waterpik or Waterpik Nano, BUY IT! If not, you might as well buy another water flossing brand. I do recommend it because it is Waterpik, 2 years guarantee and it is a good long lasting brand! I also recommend it because you don't have to deal with plug points or 2 pin plugs in the bathroom. They just need to redesign the device and make the handle more slimline and have LED so you can tell when the battery is in need of charging.

Good product, easy to use.
Very good. Comes with different attachments. Battery has a good life, and there are 2 power settings. Easy to use. Better than a more expensive unit I had before. Recharge time takes a while, so every 7 days or so I charge it in the morning and it's ready by the evening.

Dental flossing made easy!
This is a fantastic product that I have recommended to all my friends and family. For years I have struggled to be committed to traditional dental flossing, with all the fiddly and awkward hassle that comes with the process, especially for a man with large hands. Then I discovered Waterpik quite by accident in a BB&B store and I bought one to try and haven't regretted it since. Like anything new it took a few goes to get comfortable with the Waterpik, but it wasn't long that I felt my teeth and especially the gaps between were so much cleaner. You can actually see the cleaning in progress as you use the Waterpik with bits of food caught between your teeth flow into the sink. I also like the fact that you can put a month wash into the Waterpik, I like to dilute the mouth wash 50% with warm water, but it's your choice. I have been using the Waterpik for about 4 months now and will be interested to find my dental hygienists assessment of my teeth at my next visit, plus I will be asking why the hygienist hasn't recommended the Waterpik to me! Bottom line, I can't recommend this product highly enough.

first check that it will work on your local electrical system
I had the previous model of this device for many years (hand held nozzle attached to fixed reservoir) and wore it out. It was bought in Denmark. I ordered this model as a replacement because it is neater, but of course when it arrived, it was fitted with a British plug and as such, useless. When I tried to buy the adaptor, also from Amazon at 99p, the computer told me it could not be shipped to EU. Local traders could only supply a plug that converts from EU to British. Then I ordered from my own dentist in DK, and will give the original away (in the UK). So this was an expensive adventure. Perhaps I should give no stars! On the other hand, the device is superb and cleans teeth and gums like nothing else. It will save you from caries, paradentose and denstists' bills. It is much more efficient than a toothbrush electric or manual, flossers or tiny brushes. Needs a little practice to get the direction and force of the jet right.
