Cheap and absolutely does the job
This is very straightforward to set up and use, and holds a lot of water, in fact I don't bother filling it up to the top as I like to refresh the water regularly. We bought this to use when we go away overnight, especially in the summer when I worry about a bowl of water evaporating dry, but in fact it's so convenient we use it daily.Once full of water, it's quite heavy and therefore not possible for our cat to knock it over. I no longer need to fill our cat's water bowl every day (or indeed several times a day during the summer), she now always has plenty of water to drink even if I forget to check it.This item is so cheap, I'd say it's a great buy for daily use. It is an ideal size for cats but I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than very small (cat sized) dogs as the reservoir wouldn't be big enough to allow drinking. The photo shows this next to the Anmer A-25 automatic electronic pet feeder.NOTE: the clear plastic water container isn't dishwasher proof, we melted ours out of shape! However we love it so ordered a new one to replace it.

2.84 litres - means I can feed them dried food without worrying they'll finish their water without me noticing! Great device!
A really simple device to ensure your cats never run out of drinking water. You unscrew the white lid, fill it up, then affix the blue base while it is still upturned. As you turn it over (ensuring that final'click' has happened!) the water starts to decant into the base. You hold your breath - Will it stop? Will it flood my kitchen?... NO, it works perfectly; when the water level reaches the valve, it stops the flow. The bowl on the floor holds a comfortable amount of water for your cat/s.There are no batteries to keep an eye on, and nothing mechanical to go wrong. But I do live in a hard water area so I'll have to ensure the valve area does not get clogged with chalk/limescale, by cleaning it regularly - which, let's face it I'm going to do anyway because it's my cats' drinking water! It'll need cleaning and changing long before they drink the amount that the bottle holds anyway (I filled it to approx two thirds capacity) so I can't see them every going thirsty. They're not that keen on drinking, but it has increased lately with their liking of dried food. It's smaller than I pictured it: 24cm (9.5") high x 23cm (9") deep, but that's good - it still holds the massive 2.84 litres as stated, without looking like an eyesore in my kitchen. It's compact and smart.I believe this was posted from USA - it states a long delivery time but mine arrived 3 days before the expected delivery period even started - a very pleasant surprise! I ordered this one because of the pearly blue colour (the one that was sold in UK was white only). Bit disappointed that the price went down after I bought it, but hey ho that's life.I'd recommend this to anyone. You still have to change the water just as regularly, but you can be confident they'll never run out. Please see photos below. (OK... I put a treat in the water so they'd come over for the photos - but it does show you the size, proportions & colour!) Hope I've helped you to make your decision - I wouldn't be without it now!

Great product, highly recommend.
Brilliant product, ideal for our litter of 10 labradors. The weight prevents it being knocked over, any spills don't result in them not having access to fresh water and it takes up little space. It is a bit fiddly to fill and then set without spilling a little bit, but the mess is minimal and it is clean water so no major drama.Highly recommend.

Best water dispenser ever.
This is a fantastic buy.We have 3 cats including a diabetic boy and 2 golden girls ( 15 and 19)Before I bought this I was forever topping up water bowls, especially for my boy who drinks lots. The bowls would get spilled and water was stagnant sometimes despite being changed regularly. I saw this and thought I will try it as a motorised fountain would terrify my boy.At first they had to be shown where to go but very quickly got into the habit of going to their water device. Now we have queues to drink lol.Even my 15 year old girl who seldom touches water will take a few laps when she wants.Water stays fresh and we can add ice to it.Very clever as it reaches a certain level and adjusts the flow. I hear the glugs.Easy to clean and pearl blue is gorgeous.Highly recommend.

Very useful, but the breakable lid broke
A great water bowl for our cats. Stays put with the weight of the water. Advice: don't let the water level get so low the item can then be knocked over easily. For some basic pieces of plastic for £15, I'm annoyed that the cap has cracked (see photo) and a spare would be good. It still works alright and doesn't let air in via the crack, but if anything breaks this is the piece that's going to make this item rubbish with a 10,000 year life span.

Excellent water dispenser for my small dog.
DELUXE PETMATE CAFÉ WATERIER 2.84 ltr Pearl WHITEMy dog had developed a little phobia about drinking from certain bowls. As soon as I filled this she drank from it. She was a bit surprised the first time the bubbles glugged to refill the bowl, but soon got over it. She is a Jack Russell/Corgi mix.Its a nice size and doesn't take up too much floor space. The lid does not screw tight but it doesn't seem to be an issue. The bottle could be a little heavy if you have problems with your hands, if so I would recommend one you get one that you can fill from the top. This one is working perfectly for us and doesn't look as ugly as I thought it would. Wish I had bought it sooner, might get another one to put in the garden for her in the summer. You may want to buy a large bottle brush to clean it.
