My OEM battery was 8 years old and was only holding 11.6v after short period of standing. This battery was delivered quick and well packaged. The cheapest I found online. Came fully charged at 12.4v and has given good reliable service and holds charge as you would expect. Being Bosch I feel confident this will give at least 5 years trouble free motoring.Note this type of battery is not suitable for stop start vehicles

Had shopped around for a battery for my old 2008 car without stop/start, Halfords cheapest option was over £200 lol who are they kidding !! good old amazon around £90 was extremely well packaged and arrived reasonably fast, easy to fit and will hopefully last me another 5 years to so. highly recommended.

A good & powerful battery..

Bought this for my Mk6 VW Golf as the 11-year-old factory battery had given up the ghost. TBH I looked around before checking Amazon as this model was middle of the road (not cheap still). Listed on Euro Car Parts for over £160! so I checked Amazon and was amazed to get it for less than half. Easy to install, was larger than the factory battery but checked it would fit on a few websites before buying. Delivery fast, 2 days! Came well packaged and with transport plugs engaged. When it arrived I unpackaged and took out little yellow plugs as advised by packaging. The car started the first time.. Great buy!

If you need a decent long lasting battery you do not have to pay an inflated price. This four year battery replaces a one year item that failed after ten months and they cost the same £77-00 approx. To me that is close to the trade price and having had a Bosch five year unit a few years ago I know these units last out of the warranty period.Delivery was very prompt, was well packaged, and is delivered ready to use but don’t forget the petroleum jelly to protect the terminals.Highly recommended on price and quality!

Bosch are one of the best

This was a direct replacement of the same Bosch battery which had lasted well. The new battery arrived 100% charged and my battery tester showed it to be 100% good.

I purchased this battery less than a year ago, and after using it minimally—only listening to music once with the car ignition off—I found that the battery discharges alarmingly fast.Despite investing in one of the top car battery chargers, I was unable to revive the battery after several attempts. This early failure raised my concerns, so I reached out to the Battery group regarding the warranty. They requested a £20 fee for testing the battery, which would be refunded if the battery was found to be faulty. However, I was already wary.The process took an agonizingly long month. After every message sent to the Battery group, I had to wait about a week for a response. This lapse in communication added to my frustration and made me feel as if I was being ignored.When the test results finally came back, the news was disheartening: the battery's health status was just 7%. The reason? They claimed that because I had discharged it once, my warranty was void. This is absolutely unacceptable. A quality car battery should withstand multiple discharge cycles without failing so spectacularly that it becomes unusable.The way the situation was handled feels deeply unjust and borders on fraudulent. I expected a reliable product from a reputable brand like Bosch, but instead, I’ve been left with a battery that failed to meet even the most basic expectations of performance and longevity.In conclusion, my experience with the Bosch S4008 car battery has been a costly mistake, and I would advise potential buyers to steer clear of this product and the associated warranty service.
