I have an original sand scorcher, will this be a straight replacement or would i need an extended pinion? i have just bought an upgraded esc for it.

Hi , not entirely sure , but I think the sport tuned motor ( and standard 540 motors ) have a slightly bigger diameter than old 540 motors . You may have to Dremel out the motor bay ever so slightly and remove a lug . Check out Tamiya forums .I've found information about this online , but having never had a sand scorcher i can't be sure sorry !

Will it work for tamiya 4wd mini kits?

I’m 90 percent sure it won’t fit! I used one in monster beetle and thats 1/10 or 1/12 scale
