Q: Is the length of these screws suitable for half inch thick wood?

1/2 inch thick material requires a 1 inch screw length. go to kreg tool site and they have a chart for material thickness and screw length

Q: will this work with Purebond 3/4 thicnk plywood or do I need the fine thread instead? Im about to buy the plywood also and need screws for cabinets

Hello, Just as a heads up, this not an exterior screw. If your project is for indoors, this coarse thread screw is what you will need for the Purebond plywood. Thanks!

If you are coming in from the bottom and fastening the frame to the bottom of the board, then you want the screw end (point end) to extend no more that 5/8" above the frame edge when the screw is all the way to the bottom (actually top!!) of the pocket. I use the pocket drill to make vertical pockets in the center of the frame/cross-member boards rather than a side pocket. Then I use 2 1/2" Kreg screws to secure to the tops from the bottom up. I do use wood glue too. That way there is NO movement of the frame and tops. But I use 1"x3" select pine boards for my cornhole board frames and cross-members. They have precise dimensions, and this is lighter than oak would be or cutting the frame members from the baltic birch. Cheers, TQ

Just what I needed.
