My kids all love these dig kits. Just make sure you put newspaper down all around because they get messy.

Some reviews stated that they didn’t get a single insect or gemstone. Happily, my grandson ended up with all eight insects and four stones!The hammer that comes with the kit won’t work to break the plaster. We had to use a regular small hammer.The kit was intact on arrival. It was not broken or damaged at all.The kit has information cards about the various insects. It’s educational.Very happy with this kit. It was a good purchase.

My nephew loved this. It's a good size egg and has 12 dinosaur to excavate.

At 5 y.o., my daughter is set on being a palentologist. And she loves digging up the dinos in these eggs.Previously, we'd get her the small single Dino eggs, and she's have a blast.But this time, she LOST HER MIND when she opened this at Christmas! The reaction was well worth the cost and I was super satisfied with the product and the experience it provided her.Just plan ahead for the clean up! There's alot of 'egg' to clean up in the discovery stage. We used a baking sheet and a towel to manage the mess.

Dig kits have been a hit in my house for years, so I'm always looking for unique ones. That said, my 6 1/2 year old had a really hard time finding stones, and did not end up finding them all. Disappointing for a Christmas gift. Also, the black volcano made such a dirty mess. Way worse than the lighter clay. I could not possibly recommend this one.
