Returning Customer Progressing to a Wheelchair
Have purchased HH or 88 gear since 1998. Always good quality and performs as they claim. I still have their socks 24 years later, thousands of washes in Nikwax and Grangers pure soap along with their other items. Always had Gore-tex items from the likes of Berhaus and Rukka yet, HH use their own. This jacket fits well, leaves room for a polar fleece underneath, breathability is 100%, washes really well, is waterproof and has good pockets too. The zips can snag but haven't failed yet, as I place petroleum jelly on mine and wipe away the excess. It's windproof too and is that lightweight I often forget I have it on.I am a wheelchair user so it's perfect for hot shopping and icy conditions keeping my core body temperature stable.Lots of gear claiming to be suitable for a wheelchair are either leaky or very sweaty, stick to your skin and the cut is always restrictive. You can see why the RNLI use 88/HH.I can have this zipped upon me and away I go. Spill drinks and food as I struggle to swallow, the surface material is easily wiped off.My size has now sold out but I will be buying another three, as is the propensity to frequently delete ranges to add materials with useless recycled rubbish in them.Berghaus clothing has just been removed from my shopping list, as it now uses so much recycled rubbish in their materials the quality has suffered. My 14 year old Berghaus equipment performs much better.I will stick with HH, Rukka, Bridgedale and animal wool fibre products in future.Like food can be spoilt by cheapened ingredients, clothing is quickly following suit.No matter what is tried to reverse the damage to the planet, it will fail and just make future generations lives miserable. I am already feeling it.Update as of 24th March 2023.Washed and dried as directed. The breathability of the materials feel blocked and it has taken on the humidity of a bin liner. It has failed.Gore-tex is still the best.I have Rukka Nivala Gore-tex, substantially heavier 3-layer laminated, yet the breathability is 100% and is still washed in the same soap as Helly Hansen gear.I feel the recycled materials have infiltrated and are damaging HH's reputation.Sod the planet if you're too lazy to back up your product with high quality ingredients. All my gear has to be of the ultimate function with a weakened immune system and susceptible to infections.I cannot partake of the many recreational activities because being a wheelchair user it is exhausting and shoulder/arm/hand injuries are often.Losing a star for attaining bin liner status!

Super throw on all weather coat
I have bought several of these in different colours (red black blue grey) in the sale circa £50 and they are ideal for just throwing on over layers (fit great ontop of hh daybreak fleece) when i go dog walking to keep me dry and save me from the wind! Not bulky with a lightweight generous fitting and practical multiple zipped pockets. It wont keep you dry if its a drenching sustained downpour ( i know this from experience) and it can take a bit of elbow grease to get any marks off the material and whilst the fabric isnt ultra thin it is thin so it can tear relatively easily (compared to my hh parkas)Great little coat you can wear almost all year round
