This is a lovely book to look at. The pictures look like an old Betty Crocker cookbook, but when you see the tattooed arms and funky painted fingernails of the folks making the bakes, you realize it's something different! As an American reader, I will have to do some conversions for the baking temps since measurements are in metric. Challenge accepted, it's not all about US! :) I'm looking forward to baking from this book. It is lovely to read and has some great ideas.

Jemma Wilson betreibt einen der bekanntesten Youtube-Kanäle für das Kreieren von Torten, Cupcakes und anderen Leckereien. Die professionelle Konditorin aus London punktet dabei vor allem mit genauen Angaben, einfachen und dennoch klaren Erläuterungen, ihrem sympathischen Team und nicht zuletzt natürlich auch durch die Vielzahl an modernen Backideen für den Hausgebrauch. Neben einigen Grundrezepten (viele davon habe ich tatsächlich komplett übernommen, da sie wirklich gut sind) finden sich allerlei Anregungen sowie Kombinations- und Designideen darin, alles ohne Fondant. Das Besondere: Zu so gut wie allem gibt es ausführliche Videotutorials auf Youtube mit noch mehr Details und Tips - völlig kostenlos für jeden. Das ist natürlich super, aber es drängt sich auch die Frage auf, wozu man dann das Buch eigentlich braucht. Und das ist tatsächlich der Punkt, denn eigentlich braucht man es überhaupt nicht. In den Videos wird alles erklärt, was man braucht inklusive Mengenangaben (zum Glück alles in Gramm und Milliliter). Es ist somit am Ende zwar ein gutes Backbuch, aber auch vor allem für Fans des Youtube-Kanals gedacht, die gerne was von ihrem Vorbild in der Hand haben möchten. Da ich zu dieser Gruppe gehöre, gebe ich persönlich dem Buch 5 Sterne.

I am really enjoying this book. Good instructions , easy to follow recipes. Definitely recommend for anybody that enjoying baking.
