This car brush is brilliant. I really like it and found it to be the best car cleaning gadget I've ever used. I previously had the hoselock click on hand brush one, but went for this one hoping it would be easier than doing all that bending down........what a wise choice getting this one. It was so easy and comfortable to use. The brush head was a good size and I found the bristles very flexible cleaning my Ford Fiesta. Made cleaning the roof and wheels particularly easy. No bending or stretching. No water leaking from anywhere it shouldn't, and the shampo reservoir was quite big. The dial allowed you to shut off the shampoo to do the rinse with just the water coming out the brush, or you can have the shampoo coming out. I felt it came out at a good rate. I filled it 3-4 times to clean my small car, but it was filthy mind you. It's really sturdy and good quality in my opinion, but then I always go for the hozelock brand. The brush head rotates round and all in all did an excellent job of cleaning my car. I love cleaning cars (I'm the car cleaner in our house) but found it even more of a joy with this brilliant brush. It's makes it so much easier and quicker.

My car was very dirty but it's cold so I thought I'd buy one. Came quickly in the usual oversized box. Seems was to use, the brush head swivels and locks. There's an on off switch for plain water or shampoo, I switched from one to the other as I went along.The reservoir for the shampoo is quite small I had to refill it 3 times , it unscrews easily but keep an eye out for the small suction tube, it does fall out. Further down the handle is a swivel collar to control the water flow, the usual hozelock connector at the end. Fairly straightforward as the instructions were in heiroglyphics. I thought the overall finish wasn't as good as my bucket and sponge but for a quick winter wash on a dirty car with a wipedown afterwards it wasn't bad. It's not cheap at around £30 but my local car was charges £5 a time so it will pay for itself fairly quickly. Please note that it takes liquid car shampoo only, the Amazon page does give the impression that you can order soap sticks for it which is misleading. I may use it for my windows in the spring, I think it could have multiple uses

Only purchase this if you're willing to see it as a supplement to standard hose nozzle, sponge and bucket of warm water with car shampoo, and not as a substitute for these - because it's not. On the plus side, this is good for rinsing off initial mud and dirt, and saves a bit of time overall. However, several reviewers have complained about the shampoo reservoir emptying far too quickly and water leaking out. I have found these happening too. Possible solutions: turn the water flow control down and / or turn the shampoo flow control knob down to a halfway position. This reduces the rate at which shampoo disappears and also stops water leaking out of the top of the shampoo control knob, which becomes a problem when this button is switched to fully on. Even so, using a thick consistency car shampoo like Autoglym the brush seems to use it up pretty quickly, which could get quite expensive. Reach of the brush is just about OK to get to all parts of a 4x4 size car from ground level (I'm 6' 0"). The head is a bit big to negotiate aroung things like wing mirrors and wheels easily, but otherwise OK. Supplied with a minimal instruction card that only really says what the product is in umpteen languages rather than containing any actual helpful 'instructions' other than a few tiny line illustrations.This has its uses and is a far better bet than just a hose or sponge for getting a lot of mud off. The brush end can be put in numerous positions, seems to lock in position securely, but can be changed without difficulty. This product would probably be quite good for rinsing dirty windows that aren't that high too, for example. However, I agree overall with those reviewers who conclude that this is rather a poor product by Hozelock standards for its stated purpose. It's a bit flimsy and plasticy to last long - the polystyrene shampoo control knob is almost certain to be the first thing to break - and it is hard to achieve sufficient control over the shampoo / water mixing ratio. Hozelock needs to improve the mechanisms for this and also to reduce the scope for water leakage from bits of the apparatus where leaking isn't wanted. Although this is OK as a product, it really needs a better designed and sturdier version 2 to be able to do what it claims.

I love this brush. I read on other reviews people complaining about how many fills they had to use to clean their car and once I seen the size of the ball that you fill I was surprised by this as its not that big and I would use much more detergent if I were to clean the car with a bucket and sponge. Seriously you must use next to nothing compared to it. i have a Zafira and only use 2 fills.This makes it so easy for me to clean the roof of my car. i even use it to clean my wife's Corsa and that is such a doddle to clean due to its height comparison to the Zafira.When not wishing to use the detergent mode you just switch the dial to just water and can either wash the soap away with the brush or change it over to your hose end and use that instead

Oh dear! I thought Hozelock produced quality products but they missed out with this one. My first one was chipped so the shampoo simply ran out of the bottom end. Of course Amazon replaced with no fuss but the second one had so much grease packed into the shampoo compartment it had to be cleaned before I could put any shampoo in. There is no on/off control for the water so it is a quick run to the tap and then water sprays out all round the lid of the shampoo compartment. Using this brush requires the user to wear full waterproofs. I've wasted my money.
