The Triumphant Return Of Peachfuzz
*** Contains spoilers regarding Creep (2014) - If you haven't already then you should definitely watch the original first ***The first Creep film took found footage into the realm of tense character driven psychological drama, combining with it a really dark humour that runs throughout. Central to the original is the uncertainty about who Mark Duplass' character really is, and about exactly what he'll do next. It's not knowing the answer to this question that makes a first viewing of Creep so unsettling.By Creep 2 the cat is well and truly out of the bag, but what the sequel loses in suspense it more than makes up for by upping the comedy, absurdity, character development, and by even introducing an element romantic comedy. Duplass is once again fantastic as the unpredictable serial killer, convincingly moving from hilarious, charming, vulnerable and terrifying throughout the film, whilst all the while keeping you guessing as to his true thoughts and intentions. Creep 2 also benefits from giving Duplass a more fleshed out character to play off, and this comes in the form of the brilliant Desiree Akhavan.I don't want to say too much regarding the plot, because I think that will spoil the joy you'll have at watching it all unfold in front of you. If you loved the original then I think you're going to really really love this. It's had me smiling for days, and I sincerely hope we haven't seen the last of Peachfuzz.

A cool, modern horror film on a shoestring budget
I would have given this film 4.5 stars but that wasn't an option so I gave it 4. If you're into horror then this is a good choice, especially when it comes to modern horror. I'd argue that this is one of the best horror films of the 2010s, easily. And Part 2 is enjoyable as well. If you're debating as to whether or not you should give it a go, just buy it and watch it. I think its very much worth the money. Cool plot, good acting, low in budget, high in fear, just watch it!.

Perfectly titled film
The perfect choice for Halloween, or indeed any time you want to be genuinely creeped out. Simple premise, very small cast, low budget, but packs a very creepy punch. Recommended.

Pretty good found footage, not great but not bad, bit short as well...

So Much Better than I Was Expecting
This is not a horror film although it does go in for a few jump scares, but it is a great film. It's scary, unnerving and funny, like laugh out loud funny. Its an interesting take on the subject matter. I highly recommend.

Very uneven, but really terrific where it's strong.
Alernately enthralling and frustrating mix of creepy and often effective psychological thriller, well-acted blackly comic character study, and somewhat dopey ‘found footage’ horror film. This 2 character film has a simple set up. A young videographer gets a job to spend a day in a mountain town filming a stranger for $1000. The odd character who hired him claims to be dying of cancer, and wants to make a video diary for his unborn son. We know instantly it won’t be as simple as that, but Mark Duplass does a great job as the subject, sliding from heartbreaking to creepy to annoying to phony back to believable in the blink of an eye. Director Patrick Brice also does solid work playing the cameraman and potential victim. Brice and Duplass wrote the script together. There are some effective twists, and some truly scary moments, although many of those are what I call 'cheap shot-jolts' -- as simple as a sudden loud noise to make us jump. There are a few moments where it seems like the story will boldly go somewhere totally unexpected (like switching who is victim and victimizer, or having the relationship between the two men become sexual) but sadly the film backs away from leaping over those edges into even more unique, brave and disturbing territory. It also has a few deeply silly moments, where characters do things for no conceivable reason other than to help the plot along. Horror films have trafficked in those ‘don’t go in there alone!’ moments forever, but the greater intelligence to the writing and character in this film makes those tropes more annoying.A good, fun film, and one I know I’ll enjoy seeing again. But at the same time, it had greatness in it’s grasp, and its frustrating that it gets in its own way enough to undermine that.
