Very effective and accomplishes the job of cleaning car upholstery.
I photographed the toffee-brown liquid removed during my cleaning of a used car bought just this week. For contrast it’s pictured adjacent to what is actually used washing-up bowl water. It’s pretty horrible! This, is what you want though. Having used a Vax machine on carpets in the past I was pretty sure I wouldn’t like what I saw. You think it needs a BIT of a clean, then you do the job, and the resulting dirty water is fairly off-putting. But this is the colour of success of course. If it produced clear or mildly cloudy waste water there wasn’t much dirt in there at all. Filthy brown, means it was worth it. Before I did this effort on my new/used car purchase, I’d been using a sponge and rags and washing-up liquid. I spent two hours on just the fronts seats and headrests and realised this had been a fairly heavy smoker’s car with the first try at drying a bit of the seat with kitchen roll. It came away that classic yellow/tan nicotine colour. In fact, literally the only part of the car that escaped this assault by tobacco was where the driver was sat all this time. Now the question arises, why didn’t I smell this? I’m afraid the used car dealers have discovered the wonder of ‘ozone bombing’ a car’s interior. Now, they don’t need to rely on dangling de-odorisers or actually doing the effort of valeting the soft spongey seats, they just put the ozone-maker/ioniser in the car for a few hours, and the smell has gone…but the stinking actual source of the smell, the dirty nicotine/tobacco film, has seeped into the first layer or so of seat materials and I cannot sit on that. I won’t ask my family or let my family, sit inside that. I’m not paid by the company, I have no benefit from this review, except I am just pleased I got some muck out of the textile covering of the car seats, the carpeted rear floor panel of the boot, and the sponge underlayer of the seats too I think probably is worked on. It smells nice afterward, the dirty mucky water produced cannot be faked, it really works. It takes effort of course, and this was just the first shot at it. If you only have a car for a week you wont bother (eg car dealer) but if you made what is a big purchase to yourself, or are just proud of your vehicle, this is the right tool to clean it up. The use is simple, clean tank sends soapy water down the pipe to the attachment by a pump, and the attachment almost immediately sucks it back up. ALWAYS wet the surface first with the spray-trigger, because it’s got tobe wetted for it to work. Clean detergent water, shoved through the fabric/carpet, and dirty water sucked back up into the dirty tank. Pull the dirty tank off, empty it nowhere near your sink, use a street drain or the toilet bowl - it’s pretty horrible gunk sometimes. So this little Bissel unit, was almost immediately loaned out to my daughter, who suddenly decided her sofa might need it (was us refusing to sit down a hint?!). Which is good. Textiles and foam used extensively in furniture and car seats, really hold smells and the source of smells. Tips I have: use warm water. Use the right stuff to put in the water, it foams well when aerated by the pump, but if you use this stuff without a proper device like this, it doesn’t foam much at all. My car seats were pretty damp afterward, so I put a heater in there (it has a safety tip-over cut-out switch too), a small one and cracked the windows just a bit. I gave the seats a really thorough wetting with this cleaner unit, and so them still being damp a day later, even with the heater is not to say this could be avoided. I just put a towel on the seat - use one that matches the colour if you don’t want it obvious - and then resumed the heating and venting once I got back home. This is a device I THOUGHT I might possibly benefit from using, because I was about to buy a new (used, new to me) car. They have been universally filthy, the ones I had to try out, and big, posh cars are at least as bad. Often, used cars get handed around or illegally hired-out for cash I think, and nobody doing that’s going to clean them. If you want to know if a car or carpet or other surface needs cleaning, just get a nice white bit of kitchen roll, soap it up, and rub it around on the surface of the seat, curtain, carpet or whatever, and see what comes off. I almost guarantee it won’t come away pretty, that piece of soapy kitchen roll. It’s a really satisfying job and as I say especially good for used cars where the dealers have found a low-effort way to mask or deceive buyers about the state of the car’s cleanliness. Plus, if it is too much to afford, you will easily find someone to club together with, like other tenants in the same house, or maybe a family member, and that makes it easier to afford. I got the three-year guarantee/warranty option, because for £15 including accidents, that’s good value. Take care all.

Armed with two tanks—one for clean water and one for the dirty stuff—it’s ready to face any villainous spill that dares to mar your carpet. **Operation: Save the Carpet** Using the SpotClean Pro is as simple as assembling a superhero costume. Fill up the clean water tank, add some of the provided BISSELL cleaning solution, and you’re ready to roll. Its suction power is so strong, it’s like it’s trying to vacuum up the entire carpet. With its hose and brush attachment, you can swoop in and save the day, one stain at a time. **The Battle Against Stains** Imagine a world where no red wine spill or pet accident goes unpunished. The SpotClean Pro treats each stain with the same disdain Batman has for Gotham’s criminal underworld. A quick pass over the offending area, and it’s as if the stain never existed. Well, almost. The SpotClean Pro can be a bit loud, making you feel like you’re hosting a mini rock concert in your living room. And sure, its power cord might limit your range a bit, turning you into a vacuuming contortionist at times. But these are small prices to pay for the clean, fresh carpets you get in return. **Final Verdict** In the epic saga of carpet cleaning, the BISSELL SpotClean Pro is the unsung hero you didn’t know you needed. It’s not just a carpet cleaner; it’s a crime-fighter against dirt and stains. So, the next time you spill coffee during a dramatic plot twist of your favorite show, or your dog decides the living room is his new bathroom, fear not. The SpotClean Pro is on the case. So grab your SpotClean Pro, don your metaphorical cape, and let’s clean up this town, one stain at a time.

Small but mighty (loud)
TL;DR Plus: size, weight, power cable length, suction, cost, cleans well Minus: Have to use manual scrubbing (i.e. brushes don't rotate on their own), leaking water when emptying the tank, hose length could be longer, very loud Have used this once now so bear in mind my review is based on first impressions. The compact size is what drew me to this product and is definitely a firm plus as I only have a small under stair storage cupboard. It's easy to move around and lightweight which I appreciate because I had a larger vacuum style carpet cleaner previously that was just the biggest bulkiest thing to move around which meant it never got used. I expected to have to use "elbow grease" for scrubbing so this is not truly a minus for me, but for someone who wants something completely automated, this will not be the product for them. I also wouldn't mind the hose being a bit longer. Especially as the machine itself is very(!) loud especially when it was sitting on a hardwood floor next to the rug I was cleaning causing the sound to echo/resonate (honestly, I would probably recommend ear defenders!). However, the biggest minus I have found is that when emptying the tank with the dirty water, there was clearly still water sitting in the housing around the tank which leaked onto the floor after the tank was removed. Maybe I didn't give it long enough suctioning air after the wet suction? I'll run it a bit longer next time and see. However, the machine worked well at extracting up the dirty water and the carpet didn't take long to dry which seemed to indicate the suction works fairly well overall and definitely worked well (using the enclosed solution) at getting out some pet stains.

Great machine
This is a great machine. We had a flood from the flat roof above. We have burgandy carpet and there was a whitish deposit in it from the flood water. It was also dirty and going smelly despite drying it out withing 48 hrs. Wish I had this machine to suck some of the flood water out but at least I have it if we get flooded again. I washed just a large square to test it out and it looks great while wet. Not sure it can rescue my carpet and I will need a new one but at least it got out a whole load of dirt and whatever the whitish powdery stuff was untill I can replace the carpet. The machine itself is small and ideal for many jobs. However, the hose is quite short when you consider how loud the machine is. You can't escape the ear defening noise level. I had to take breaks because I have personal limitations to how much I can do. When I turned the machine off for those breaks I couldn't hear prooerly in the ear of the side the machine was on. I teied pounting the air flow vent away from me and so on to limit the noise but it was still so very loud. Some may not mind this but some folk may find loud hoover type noises difficult. The cord was long enough for my use. The tanks are a good size. I cleaned a large square area and only had quarter of the refuse tank filled up. I haven't used the small attachment as I was cleaning a larger section of carpet. Not sure I would ever need that one. I would have liked some on board storage for it but there isn't. Not a hige deal breaker for me but I do have a habit of putting things somewhere so I don't lose them as I might need them one day, then when that day comes it is nowhere to be found. I read a review that said the attachment snapped under the preasure they were applying. But you shouldn't apply preassure too much. You need air flow. You tilt it back away from the brush. If you apply lots of preasure then you cut off air flow and then there is zero suction. Same with a hoover. If you put your hand over the hose of a hoover it can't suck air up and the motor freaks out and strains itself. Likewise with sucking up the water. You need airflow for the machine to suck upwards. Add lots of preassure and to cut off its ability. So tilt back onto the clear plastic area but don't push down to the floor too hard. The machine doesn't dry the carpet. It is not a dryer. It removes liquid enough for you to be able to air dry the carpet or fabric quickly. It should take 30mins to an hour to dry a whole room carpet with doors/windows open, good air flow and not raining outside to make the air flow coming in damp. Your best way to dry fast is with carpet fans or even just fans to get air flowing around the room. A dehumidifier as well would dry things even quicker. The faster you can dry the carpet after the better results. I use a 20L per day dehumidifier and one floor fan for a medium room if doing a whole carpet.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceeded My Expectations – Powerful, Easy, and Super Effective
I bought the BISSELL SpotClean Pro after doing a lot of research and watching countless YouTube videos about cleaning car upholstery. With two kids, the car is always a bit of a disaster zone, so I needed something effective. I was genuinely impressed by how easily it removed stains from the car carpets and seats. It doesn’t just shine in the car, though. I now use it monthly around the house—on couch cushions and small carpets the kids constantly spill things on. It comes with a bottle of cleaning concentrate, and one bottle lasts me for around 10 full tanks, which is great value. One important tip: always remember to empty the dirty tank. I forgot once and opened it a month later… the smell was not pleasant. Luckily, cleaning the machine was quick. I just vacuumed a bit of clean water through the system and it was fresh again within minutes. It’s definitely powerful, but that also means it’s quite noisy. If you’re using it inside the car, I’d recommend wearing earplugs or headphones and putting on some music. Overall, it’s a fantastic cleaner, very effective, and genuinely useful for both car and home. Highly recommended!

Hey Presto ! 🎉
Excellent product, small enough to be stored in wardrobe or small cupboard. Lightweight to manoeuvre easily . 2 attachments, easy to install. Product excelled for me, tbh I was mortified of the colour of the water after doing the bedroom, But if I need to complete this task every month .. happy Days ! ( Bedroom- initially left windows open before heating came on but dried quickly) Brought the carpet up like new.. chuffed .. I’ll be doing the stairs in the next few days so bring it on. Have to say .. watching a UTube video was far better and easy to understand than the enclosed paper instructions. But overall would recommend.

Really good
It’s really good. I was sceptical about it working on some really old carpet stains but it took them out completely. It’s easy to use, just follow the instructions. Some reviews said it’s really loud but personally I think it’s not louder than any other heavy duty vacuum. Money well spent, managed to clean carpets, sofas and cushions with it.

Easy to use and extracts water well
This machine is basically a small wet vacuum cleaner plus a simple spray. It is easy to use and not too much trouble to clean after use. It is compact for easy storage. What it does is to remove dirty water as you scrub so you can clean without water-logging things or leaving water stains. It is effective at vacuuming up the water - really pulls a lot out - if by no means all. Took a day or so with the windows open for things to dry properly - still much faster than it would have been without it. But I don't find it cleans (rather than rinses) of itself - I find I need to do this exactly as I would without it. Others recommend having a separate spray for cleaning fluid plus an external brush (possibly a drill brush) and keeping this machine for clean rinsing water only. This seems sensible. I did a lot of rinses and was nowhere near getting only clean water out at the end. It doesn't heat water - you fill with warm tap water - and it doesn’t scrub. As advertised it covers only a small area at a time. Although easy to manoeuvre and with a long lead that compensates for the short coil on the spray/ vacuum head, it is still quite slow and hard work. The idea of cleaning a large area is daunting. Suspect it's real use case is the car. I think I personally would have been better off with a simple wet vacuum cleaner - or a real carpet cleaner with rotating brushes. I will be looking to hire a carpet cleaner to do the wider area. The vacuum is powerful enough to pull whole handfuls of wool from a small area of carpet as I rinsed - at least after I had scrubbed with another brush. Possibly I am not meant to use it on wool - not sure. Have used only on a sofa and small stained areas of carpet. Didn't have any impact on old tea stains, but I wouldn’t expect it to. Suspect it will be very handy next time I spill something for preventing the stains from setting in - which is its advertised purpose. It is noisy but so is any vacuum cleaner. It is a useful machine but share my experience because I had not fully understood the limits of what I could expect from it before buying.
