6 months review: Why didn't I buy this excellent product sooner?!
Some products deliver everything they promise and are well worth it. This is one of them. - Highly effective at containing oil/grease spatter while also allowing steam/moisture to vent (i.e., superior to lids) - Super easy to clean afterwards by hand (I prefer doing it this way to avoid the heat of the dishwasher aging the silicone), mine looks good as new and has zero stickiness after 6 months of frequent use - Super useful when draining liquids! I often cook chicken, taco meat, stew beef, and stir fry which often produces too much liquid which you want to drain out. I used to have to try to use paper towels or use a utensil or a lid not designed for easy draining and would have a hot mess everywhere. This lid makes containing oil spatter and draining excess liquid super convenient and easy. Great design and I use this capability all the time - Handle is comfortable and provides excellent grip - Size allows me to cover all my skillets and even my wok which is amazing, but it's not so gigantic it creates difficulties storing it Just buy it and don't look back. Really pleased with this product.

This is the right one
I buy this type of lid for my husband who fry’s bacon every morning for his breakfast. It saves the stove from getting covered with splatters. The smell of bacon does stay in the lid, does not wash out. It is well made, great size, easy to use as it is lightweight but does the job!

versatile, works in different ways.
I am extremely pleased with this product. I needed a splatter shield for a rectangular baking pan for when I make apple butter. Years past I would have to spend a couple hours cleaning the oven which sometimes dissuaded me from making apple butter. This is a GAME CHANGER! Not a splatter to clean up. The silicone material made for easy clean up.

Good, but way too big!
It works, easy to clean, & is well made. Can't see through it, though, and way too big!

Very effective
I had the type that looks like screen. This is different. It kind of looks like rubber and when it is on the hot pot it gets loose and wrinkly. When you remove it the normal shape returns. It’s easy to see the grease and wash it off with hot soapy sponge; I’ve also put it in the dishwasher (top shelf). There are little holes that let out the heat but minimize the splatter and smoke (I cook on a gas stove). This product works for me.

Just right.
Much better than the wire screens I have used.

Sturdy yet flexible (and I have a tip for using on larger pans).
The first thing I noticed when I took this out of the box was the weight of it. It’s certainly feels a lot more substantial than your typical splatter guard. I have been cooking for four decades, and this is the best splatter guard I have seen. For those of you who are going back-and-forth on whether to get this one or the OXO, I like this one better (I have both). As far as my typical daily cooking goes, I mostly use an 11 inch and a 14 inch sauté pan. This splatter guard works well for both. Obviously this is a 13 inch splatter guard, so how is that possible? Well, on my 11 inch pan, there is obviously a little bit of overlap, but since the silicone is flexible, the weight of the outer ring presses the silicone down over the lip of the pan and I get an almost perfect seal, but for those of you that have a gas stove like I do, just make sure you don’t turn the heat to high so the flames have around the sides of the pan… as for my 14 inch pan, I take the hollow handle of the splatter guard and slide it over the handle of the pan…. The panhandle holds the splatter guard in the perfect position to be slightly elevated over the larger pan with only about a half inch gap around the sides… which is still good at catching almost all of the splatter. I have tried this method on multiple panels and haven’t had an issue yet. Overall, a great product. Recommended.
