If you didn’t know it was there, you’d probably never notice it. Frankly, it makes the water taste “fresher.”The packaging advises taking ¼ teaspoon one to three times a day. Each ¼ teaspoon contains 1 g (1000 mg) of glycine. There are 454 servings of glycine in every one-pound container. Thus if you were to take three, ¼ teaspoons/day, this bottle would last 151 days. This 3g/day dosage is consistent with what I’ve learned through internet research and it is what I’ve been doing.I started taking glycine because I learned that it might be strongly associated with prolonging life. It is already known to help with sleep, wound healing, and joint pain. Science has only recently come around to recognizing that glycine should be considered a semi-essential amino acid. Humans can manufacture glycine in their livers from other amino acids, but the modern diet often means that humans are slightly glycine deficient. It’s like drugs for your dreams! Very vivid dreams, which are always crazy. Worked on the 2nd night I took it, woke up a little drowsy but finally got a decent night of sleep. Tastes like sugar so great to add to mixed drinks or smoothie. I don’t always get a full night spirit with it but always get vivid dreams. I have mixed feelings about it but it is as advertised.

So let me say that this stuff was great, at least the first bottle I got from amazon. It was sweet and allowed me to wake, even with less sleep than usual and be able to think very clearly. Normally I'm groggy and grumpy when I wake up, not with this stuff. So the 2nd bottle I got was definitely fake. Tasted sour, actually mixed in the water better (original 3g was having some trouble dissolving 16oz of water sometimes), and had a plastic fake chemical smell to my water. I no longer got the beneficial sleep effects, and it also made me queasy after taking it. So be careful, I'm going to try again and hopefully get the real thing. Otherwise I'll get it somewhere other than amazon.
