I bought this for the current corona virus mask requirements because I do not like the wrap around ear type of mask. This is too thin to really protect from the virus but it meets the guidelines and it is more comfortable. I can also just pull it down around my neck when I don't need it on my face and not worry about what to do with the mask. I also ordered neck gaiters from the SA company which is advertised all over social media to compare with this. I liked this a lot better. The SA brand fit me way too tight. This gaiter seemed better quality and the design looked better. I sent back the masks from SA and bought a second one of these.
