Hi. It looks like this is screwed into the spout but my tap has no thread. Will this item work. Thanks

No it is not screwed into the spout. First turn off the water at the mains or isolation valve near the tap. Unscrew the head off the tap, this is the thread you use to attach the reseating tool. Turning the knob on the tool whilst pressing down will grind away the corroded seat where the tap washer sits leaving a nice flat seat. It works very well and quite easy once you figure it out.

Does it fit 1/2-inch bsp thread tap?

Yes fits 1/2” and 3/4” BSP thread tap. Basin and bath taps.

Will this work for 3/8 tap washers

It says that it's for 1/2 and 3/4 inch taps, I don't know if it will fit a 3/8 inch tap, probably not.

Does this work for garden taps?

If your tap falls into these fittings, Fits BS5412 & BS1010 1/2in and 3/4in taps. Complete with :- 17, 19 25mm (11/16in 3/4in 1in) Flat Cutters and two double ended plastic bushes. If the tap seat is cracked a new tap is the easiest way to fix.
