Can this can take an input of 5v 2.1a and output 30v 2.5a, and is the set output stable?

No, not unless I have overlooked what would be a very valuable feature. If we assume 100% efficiency for conversion, 2.1 Amps at 5 Volts would give you only 0.35 Amps at 30 Volts, more realistically it would be much less than that since the conversion will not be 100% efficient . 30V * 2.5A= 75 Watts, 5V * 2.1A = 10.5Watts I hope this helps. Please forgive me if I have misunderstood the question.

Can one use this to “trickle “ charge a motorcycle battery?

The previous answer is incorrect. Yes, it absolutely would. In fact, its current handling capacity (~1A or so) would be more than enough to charge a motorcycle battery (12-24 hours), let alone maintain it. However, since it isn't programmable, you wouldn't get the benefit of occasional absorption cycles to prevent sulfation. Nevertheless, you could winter float a 300Ah 8D with this thing with no issues.

Does the usb in ports support data pass through to the usb out ports?

Not supported, it is a power converter and does not support data communication

Does this display delivered current in real time?

With multiple sets of fading LEDs, I'm observing about 2 current updates per second

It can adjust the voltage between 0.5V and 30V from a 5V USB-A input. Has constant voltage or constant current mode. It comes not assembled, not sure why maybe due to low demand but fairly easy to put together.

This is a great little DC buck power supply. It has many features that are easy to use. It can be used as a meter to test voltages, it can be used as a variable power supply, a constant current battery charger and more. The directions can be downloaded from a link on the Amazon page. It was a little confusing at first as to what they were calling certain things but it dosent take long to figure it out. It has three different inputs: USB, 5 volt micro USB and hardwired. It has short circuit protection, over temperature protection, over current protection. This little variable buck power supply is perfect if you like to tinker with electronics, it is a great item for teaching basics of DC power and current. I would recommend this to anyone and the price is great.

With the adjustable voltage, i use this as a kind of universal battery charger, and the volts and amps readout lets me monitor what's happening, to avoid damaging the battery under charge.

I purchased this to replace the missing power supply on My weather-band radio. I needed 11.4 volts. The new power supply was a lot of money. This works perfect. This Buck converter can be used to charge lithium batteries. Input voltage can be adjusted up or down. Input 4 to 13vDC and the output .5 to 30VDC. Easley done pressing buttons and watching LCD. I can use it to power it on other items. Easy enough. It is also can be used as a battery charger for Lipo batteries. Did this also when my RC battery charger failed. This is a lot of Bang for the BUCK. ( no pun intended. < LOL>
