Keeps things working right
I used these on my pickup it’s whole life. The quality is great and I keep one on hand at all times. My truck is a workhorse and a necessary tool in my everyday life it needs to be dependable and ready. I change the oil and filter every three to five thousand miles depending on how hard I pushed it that month. After eight years of me abusing it and a 100,000 miles it uses no oil starts right up and I would have no problems hoping in and taking on a two day trip to Texas to see my brother. Towing my side by side to pretty remote areas knowing it will get me back home. Oil and filters is the life of your vehicle. One place you never want to cut corners.

Bad Gasket On An Open Box Item - Updated
I've been doing oil changes for 30 plus years and this is only the second time that I've had an oil filter with a defective gasket. I don't know what they changed on this replacement model but it just doesn't want to seal correctly even after over tightening it. It's never fun when you have to drop an oil filter, lose half a quart of high quality T6 oil and wonder what you did wrong the whole time on such a simple maintenance task that you've never had a problem with before. Maybe it was my fault for trusting and buying an open box item but it's an oil filter and the condition of the box doesn't matter as long as the filter isn't visibly damaged, which I verified that everything looked good before using it. As a result I decided to give Dr. Diesel a try since it should be just as good of a product. Update: When I went to change out the leaking filter I discovered that it was my fault and had nothing to do with the quality or condition of this item. In the process of removing the old filter and before installing the new one, I failed to recognize that the gasket from the old one had seized on and was still there when I installed the new one. Just one of those things that very rarely happens and can easily be overlooked when tired or rushed.

Packaging needs improvement
This is the correct filter, but packaging could use more padding. The filter box was loose in the shipping box and had ripped apart. More padding would have prevented this. Fortunately the filter is still in good shape.

Oil filter arrived in a torn up box, taped and patched up with some paper. Filter is missing its sealing ring making it useless. Amazon needs to stop reselling returned stuff that's obviously nothing but garbage. It's not the first time this has happened.
