It's made of silicone but it's firm, not flexible - think of it as if there is some solid material that makes up the spoon head and it's dipped and coated in silicone so it doesn't damage your nonstick pans - I use these spoons for everything and even drilled a hole in the top of the handle and filed it down so I could hang them up!

It looks black, but other matching products are midnight blue. WHat is its real color?

It is black in my opinion. I have blue as well but it is a bright blue. You can tell the difference. Hope thus helps. And I love my utensils!
