Help with extraordinarily cold-colored florescent lighting
I worked from home for four years, in my basement. During that time, I built an office there. My son and I had just installed a fireplace, it was perfect. It still is. But then I got a great new opportunity... in an office building. Everything there is blue or white, and the lighting temperature is probably in the ultraviolet (8000K+) it's so cold and bright... I started work on the 29th of April and immediately began searching for something to mitigate the stressful effect of the light. Some things I can't and don't want to do -- for instance, covering the ceiling lights with something -- they're everyone's ceiling lights, and not everyone hates the blue light like I do... On the 2nd of May (Thursday after I started there) I purchased this shade. It arrived quickly and I installed it the next working day. Installation took a little longer than you'd expect (still only about 20 minutes) because I had to cut stitching that had closed up the sockets on one side of the shade, but I had a razor blade handy so it was not an issue. Three months later, the shade provides exactly what I need and really, it enables me to work where I work without the stress cold florescent lighting causes. I also bought a Tiffany lamp for my desk, and it provides warm light that, when contrasted with my office walls, is sort-of like a warm fire. Then I put a mirror behind the lamp (vs. buying a second lamp) to help amplify the warmth. Overall, the strategy works, and without this shade it would not. It attaches to the desk by a clamp, and is easily moved or adjusted. I have moved it once, but just once. Overall, I highly recommend.

Easy to assemble, but give yourself about 30 minutes.
This was very easy to assemble! I do wish it were a tad larger for more coverage. I have debilitating migraines and photophobia. This is helping but I will be attaching Velcro to it and adding some extra fabric to attach to the walls of my cubicle.

Great to keep light out.
I bought this for my office cube since I have three big lights over me. It was a little difficult to put together the actual leaf part, but the rest of it was easy to install. I do wish that it would tilt down a little more to make it more of a covering vs the shade- just because of how the lights are for me. I was able to use a tie and another item to pull down the leaf a little more so that I am completely covered from the lights. I will have to say that this has been the best money that I have spent in order to raise my "quality of life" more for work. It is so nice to have the big lights out of my eyes and the bosses are ok with it since it doesn't trigger fire saftey rules.

This is great!
I have photophobia and the lights in my office bother me, even with the crappy filters that are installed. This light shade was perfect and helped so much. But of course, hr said it’s not allowed. Fire hazard and all that. So make sure you ask before you buy. Only issue I found was it wanted to move side to side. Definitely would want something To keep it in the position you want. It was a tad difficult to put together, you have to push those rods in super hard, it’s a tight fit and my husband had to help. Worth it tho. Hopefully it can help others, I’m still on the hunt for something I can use that’s not ‘against policy.’

Doesn’t stay in the position well
I love my leaf at my desk. It helps to shade the aggressive overhead lights. Only issue I have with this product is that it is not easy to adjust the direction that the leaf sits at. The mechanism to hold it up doesn’t have enough grip to hold it at whichever angle you want the leaf to be at, mine always just moves back to where it naturally wants to sit at. I wish I could adjust this and have tried multiple times, but haven’t been able to get it to stay. Still an overall good product and pretty easy to set up.

Works and worth the price
Can't recommend enough for anyone that gets migraines or is bothered by the florescent lights at their job. Helps immensely. Worth the money.

Works great
Love this thing in the office. Blocks out all the harmful fluorescent lights above me that give me a headache. (Look up the downsides to the lights they use in office.)

Terrible design, does not assemble.
Manufacturing mistake. The hole in the middle for the last rod is sealed shut about an inch in, so there's no path for the rod to go. After struggling with this terrible design, we find a manufacturing defect. This piece of garbage is not worth $10, let alone $40. Material seems cheap, and doubtful this would last for a while. It would have been nice if we were able to assemble this to see if this does work, but avoid.
