Overall not a bad bit of kit once you get understand how it goes together. A few niggles with the type of screw/locking nut used as you need a pair of pliers to make sure it is tight and doesnt come adrift. You also need to be awawre that arms have not slipped out of position when using it. Once working, it does an OK job of sharpening the blades. Not really suited to the beginner.

Bought with diamond stones and worked as described.

Sharpener ok. Stones rubbish...

I spent an enormous amount of time setting this device up. After what seemed like hours to 'sharpen' 4 knives I ultimately gave up. The end result was worse than when I started. Watching videos, it may be down to the supplied stones which left shavings everywhere. What a mess! I've never seen stones do that. Luckily I did the work outdoors, so was able to sweep everything up. I may have to order diamond stones, but am warry that that will not help. Unfortunately, I didn't use the tool until after a the 30 day guarantee, so cannot send it back.

Really great little tool, sharpens knifes well. Definitely ready for a zombie apocalypse now!

The frame and the knife clamp work fine but the stone sharpeners you get in the kit are not really the best quality, I have sharpened 3 knives and there already quite word down. I will have to buy extra stones shortly, something I wasn't expecting.

TLDR - This is an outstanding setup, and could not be happier. I have run out of things to sharpen for the first time ever. Everyone with beveled edge knives should have one. Ruxin - WELL DONE!!! I have had a few knife sharpeners over the years, including the worthless previous ruxin plastic model with suction cup and ball joint. I was tempted to go else where this time, but the new model looked workable. Its all metal and has proper clamping this time for both the blade and the guide itself. I'm shocked at the improvement over previous models. There is simply no comparison. This thing is amazing and a steal for its going price. Sharpening is a breeze now as the guide bar has limiters now to prevent you from pulling to far, and the stones are even easier to attach than before. The knife clamp is a massive improvement as it frees up your other hand and keep your fingers from getting ground off on passes. It also is perfect for holding the angle. Flipping the blade results in a satisfying thump as it locks back into place for honing the other side. There are some minor issues, such as: The screws for locking down the blade are a bit tough to work with and hurts your fingers after 10-15 knives. YES 10-15! in one sitting. With older systems i was lucky to get two done before I was too frustrated to continue. The thumb screws for the blade clamps back-out regularly too, so keep an eye on that as it causes thing to wobble. Don't forget to lubricate that bearing. It starts to gum up after a few knives. I use food safe silicon oil. 10/10

Good quality for price easy to use , great for beginners or people keen on having a sharp a knife.
