Q: Which battery should be used? it says aaa but thats too long to fit .....

Clock is very small, but pretty. Back is made of plastic, not pewter, which is a bit of a let down. Instructions call for an AAA battery - there is no way a triple AAA would ever fit in the housing. Thanks to comment below discovered that the correct battery is in fact an N. All in all pretty, but disappointing and certainly not worth the money. However I'm not sending it back as the colour is perfect.

The actual face measures 2.1/4" across. It's a lovely little clock.

No it does not tick. I have mine on my bedside cabinet and it looks lovely.

It's not silent I bought it for the ticking sound as it helps me to sleep. Not too loud or intrusive.
