POOR DESIGN, POOR BUILD QUALITY, WASTE OF MONEY, TIME CONSUMING - DON'T BUY
There's a reason this thing comes without a warranty. Parts are loose & fit poorly. I spent a day getting the beds parallel another day adjusting / upgrading parts to reduce vibration & remove annoying rattle only for the lower, adjustable bed used for thicknessing to jamb, go out of level & bend other parts! I'll keep the motor & the wheels the rest will be taken to the tip. A waste of the earth's resources. Lessons learned; buy a planer made in the country in which you live providing it comes with a warranty. Don't be a cheapskate. Boycott China

spares parts
I own one, it needs a new flat belt, on going to the Metabo site only to find they don't list it among the lists of products. So this must be badged and not made by them. Having looked about on the net I found a company called SIP also badged this tool, at least they do recognise the planner, although most of the parts are discontinued. Think hard about buying this planner you may be buying a pup I did.. NOT HAPPY..

When Cheap is Expensive - Avoid if you can
Fussy to assemble (manual is extremely poor - don’t be surprise if you end up with a bunch of bolts wondering where they belong to) and inaccurate - it will take you the patience of a saint to set it up correctly and even then...you will be lucky if you end up with something that looks square... if you can afford a more expensive machine then avoid this one. You will never know and you will never regret it. Metabo does not need this and it leaves a bad impression about the company. A reviewer mentions the lack of spare parts as well: I can’t tell but it would not surprise me if spares are difficult to get hold of but last time I had to buy blades they were still available

Okay for the money but not a great machine.
It's okay for rough work in softwoods but the tables and fences aren't precise enough for quality furniture making. Plus the blade changes are tricky to get dead right and switching from planing to thickening and back again takes a frustratingly long time. It does the job but if I had my time again I'd have saved up longer for a better cast iron machine
