NOT RELIGIOUS! :)
I was looking for a non-religious book about this subject due to the loss of our dog. This booked really helped my 9yo daughter. She found comfort in seeing the pet paradise and all it has to offer dogs (unlimited bones, cozy couches, no grooming). :)The flatulent dog made her laugh! I think the story is very cute, the drawings are cheerful (even the trees in per paradise are smiling!), the message for the child that it’s not time yet for her to stay in the rainbow bridge and to love more pets is so heartwarming! The only cons I found the amount of text (it could be more concise) and the adoption of another dog int he end, as not all families will do that in real life.Overall, we liked the book a lot!

Thoughtful and comforting
My husband and I recently lost our beloved dog. While this book is geared towards children, we found it fit our situation. It is realistic and therefore sad. We both cried. The playfulness of the animals and bright, cheerful illustrations bring a much needed levity to a serious subject. We found this meaningful story to be thoughtful and comforting. Recommended for anyone who has lost a furry family member.

Great for kids (and adults too)
I think I have purchased at least 4 of these books. I have one for myself, where my nieces and I added pictures of my dogs that passed away. I've sent the book to multiple friends with kids who have lost a pet. It's a beautiful book and makes losing a friend a teeny bit easier.

Book is long and okay
This book served its purpose for my 5 year old, but was too long. I love that it gives kids hope that they will see their pet again (but even that can open a can of worms if a parent hasn’t talked to their kids about human death). We personally weren’t a fan of the ending because it felt like it was saying that all pets are replaceable and felt like the pet was immediately replaced although I don’t think that was the intention. I appreciate the authors intention but I think we would have preferred a different book if I had read this one first.

Beautiful book for the loss of a dog
Our dog as diagnosed with lymphoma and I bought this to read before she passed. It’s a beautiful story and I feel like it helped prepare our kids for the next step. Beautiful story with beautiful pictures.
