At Last A Wonderful Retelling of This Christmas Classic for Children
It is so refreshing to see a book that retells the Charles Dickens's classic in such a charming and intriguing manner for children of all ages. This is one special children's book that should be in the library of every home with children and should be read every Christmas. While the book is a children's book, most adults will also love this vividly illustrated Christmas classic."A Christmas Carol" is an absolutely beautifully illustrated children's Christmas book. The hardback book measures 9 1/4 inches by 11 1/4 inches and has 40 pages. Every page is a full color full page beautifully illustrated experience. The text is superimposed on many of the illustrations. The artist, Gerald Kelly, did a superb job of conveying the atmosphere and feelings of the characters and situations in the story. One could simply just look at the illustrations and visualize the story in their mind without even reading the text. The author, Adam Mckeown, has a very unique gift of writing in a manner that captures the interest of the reader. The reader will have sparked interest and anticipation as they read each page and view the splendid illustrations. I love the author's beautiful descriptive writing style. He uses lots of appropriate figurative language including some beautiful metaphors and similes. Here is a wonderful excerpt showing the author's style - "Scrooge! Now he was a hard-hearted greedy old miser! No winter frost was colder than Scrooge, and no wind blew more bitterly. If he had a heart, it was frozen solid. - ... He walked home to an empty house, where he lived as solitary as an oyster."This is a tremendous children's book that teaches that wonderful lesson that no matter how hard, cold and selfish a person can be, there is hope for change in the message of Christmas. I highly recommend the book to all children, but adults would also thoroughly enjoy this beautifully illustrated book.

Beautifully Illustrated Classic
Always loved Dickens' writing including "A Christmas Carol". His sophisticated and understated British writing style is a bit hard to grasp for today's 'in your face' style loving students. I bought this book to share with my elementary students during the pandemic shutdown, and they really loved it. Written with simplicity and illustrated beautifully, this book really enabled my students to think clearly and imaginatively about Dickens' Classic as well as the true story that Dickens' alludes to with the masterful stroke of his pen! Bravo!
