Give yourself a treat with your first analogue toy
After a lot of play with virtual analogs in my DAW I realised that I want to put my hands on a real one. I bought this little wonder as my first analogue synth and am very happy with it. Apart from its beautiful sounding analogue "unpredictability" and "honesty", for me its killer feature is that it's digitally controlled. So you can save and load your patches (to all 128 memory positions) and transfer it to your computer. I'd really miss this feature with some modern synths on the market; I'd be too lazy to start from scratch and too attached to current patch to dismantle it. This synth has beautiful, big keys with just a right (synthesizer) weight. It has a bunch of features, with some of them visible and controllable with knobs, other slightly hidden, but still accesible. Physically turning knobs and faders and getting the immediate change is the greatist thing you get from analogue synths. It's like having a chisel and hammer in your hand, turning a stone into the sculpture. The impact on sound is tremendous, incomparable to digital synths. I would suggest this synth to any synth enthusiast and any newcomer to synthsesis. The build quality of this thing (the hausing, keys, knobs) is great. The synth is small and fits any table (I use it while doing other things on my computer as fidget toy :)). It's relatively light and it also fits to your lap. Overall, a great sounding toy for a great price, with no negative sides. I'd recommend it anytime.

By far the most versatile and best sounding synth for the price
This synth has the best DCO implementation of any other synth on the market, by far. It has a ton of nice features and allows you to easily adjust many parameters. There are two negative things about this synth: the filter's amplification stage goes into distortion easily with medium and high resonance settings. This is not avoidable. This distortion is not what I'd call "pleasant", but well, it's not terrible, and it sounds very nice either way. It's not possible to adjust the filter's keyboard tracking, and the "acid" filter is stuck at "50%". Other than that, especially considering its cost, this synth is amazingly versatile and has great sound quality, and it's just fun, so less than 5 stars would be unfair. Nothing else competes with it at its price, and its DCOs are better than any other synth's at any price, regardless.

Fantastic instrument and lots of fun
It's amazing how much fun can be had with a couple of oscillators (plus a sub), manipulated by a pair of LFOs, passing through some quality filters. It's an astounding instrument and fabulous value for money.

Arturia beater, a real shocker
WOW....thats my opener. i had the original BS back when it came out. it was all too much of a muchness and nothing like a 303 or anything else for that matter. it lacked character and presence. in this modern time of all loving analogues and retro gear, this is just bang on on all counts. a seriously easy to use piece of kit. i mean seriously a no need to read manual scenario. it has bags and bags of attitude thanks to the distortion effect. filters switch between classic and acid which is said to emulate the 303 right well it doesnt, it has its own fluid character and to my mind, everyone in the world is pretty sick of a squelchy or barky 303; The build is solid. ok its plastic, but its a tight solid build. against the Arturia Minibrute, this is what that synth needed to be. unlike the Brute, its keys wont fall to bits and if you have customer support needs, Novation wont drop you like a bad habit. Wicked sequncer and arp. memories for your favourites sounds and enough presets to give you a starting point.

Why didn't I get one sooner?! Amazing.
Annoyed with myself for not getting one sooner, it's just fantastic. Had it up and running with automation in Ableton live within about 30 seconds. Seem less. Killer sound, huge. All at the fingertips. I love it.

This synthesizer is truly fantastic. I believe it is great for hip hop
This synthesizer is truly fantastic. I believe it is great for hip hop, trance, drum and bass, techno and pretty much all dance music. I have connected it to my akai XR20 and it is fantastic.

probably the best in it's price range. Decent build. Packed with tons of features, this will keep you occupied for ages. Good for a beginner to learn synthesis too. Bit annoying having to pay a premium for these products being in India. It costs like $400 in the US

This might be my most regretted blind spot. I should have tried one of these ages ago. The timing was great though. I just replaced a behringer wasp clone with a Bree6. I was missing the filters on the wasp. Not enough to get another one, but enough to make a mental note about it. So enter a different problem. Hating on the arturia keystep. Wanting full size keys. And not really needing more than 25 keys. I'm playing into a hardware tracker. I can start and stop time at will, and edit notes in post. The closest thing I can find to small with full size keys is either an old oxygen from m-audio that will feel like a toy, or garbage that requires a DAW and a computer. Then someone literally suggested getting a used bass station. "They have a great keybed for the price and full sized keys. You can find the first generation one for a few hundred bucks." So I check and surprisingly, the bass station models are slimmer than even the keystep 32. Then I read the description, and find out THE GUY that made my favorite filter of all time, put the filter on this masterpiece. And it was THE GUY that did it. Not Uli. Not wish.com. And I wanted the "new" one. And it was literally as easy as swapping the usb power cable and the MIDI cable over. And for my original purpose, using it as a keyboard, it's absolutely perfect. Head and shoulders above the keystep for note entry. The fact that it basically includes a 3 oscillator Wasp is the greatest kind of amazing. And when you start messing with it, a whole lot of things start jumping out at you. It would already be a great value to me. But you have pre and post filter distortion/overdrive. You can drive the filter with a knob. That's so useful. You can map patches to keys. So you could build a little drum kit on this. And with the wasp filter and patch saving, it's going to sound awesome. This might be the best value in a synth from a reputable maker, with some strong competition from dreadbox.

Disappointingly, my item has arrived today. Given that it was sold as shipping from australia it is highly disappointing that it arrived with a us power adapter. The type where the prongs can be swapped for the right type depending on you location. Unfortunately only the US prongs we’re included.
