Great fit and comfort
I am a man who is 5' 7" tall and weighs about 140 pounds. I purchased a medium size and they fit like I want them too. I went by the guidelines shown and it worked out perfectly. I have included photos of the sizes of my ankle, calf and thigh for you to go by. Sorry if some of the numbers are upside down. It looked right to me looking down at it when taking the photos! These could fit a little lower on my leg, but I prefer them pulled up high. The compression seems just right for everyday use. A note for women... these are thick stockings and not a 'fashion' type, but that is not what they were designed for anyway. I have had spider veins treated in the past and wanted these to help prevent them. In my case, nobody will ever know I'm wearing them since I always wear jeans at work or in public, even though I am wearing shorts in these photos (around the house). I am familiar with this type of hosiery since I had to wear tighter ones when I had sclerotherapy done several years ago. The higher compression ones would make my ankles hurt after hours of use. These are not quite that tight and should be much more comfortable at work when I want to use them. These Jobst stockings are heavy weight weave and have good stitching at the top as you can see from one of my photos. A tip for men interested in this type of stocking...get used to shaved legs. Not shaving looks funny through them especially the tan colored ones if you have thick, dark hair, but they do come in black. However, not shaving with support stockings can promote more ingrown hairs, so it is up to the individual taste and experience with your own hair as to which way to go. Final note: I have only had these for one day, but they have had no trouble staying in place. If anything changes in this regard after wearing them a while and even after washing, I will update. UPDATE 1: have worn these three times now for 9-12 hours each time. Have had absolutely no slippage.

Weight gain from fluid retention solved, they do not roll down
These proved to be life savers after fluid retention following surgery. I gained 18 pounds shortly after surgery, and the doctor recommended knee high version, which worked well, then advised me to move to thigh-high if I thought I could take the compression. These were unbelievably comfortable, and wore them day and night for three weeks or so, sleeping in them until I lost the fluids in my legs. I could tell they were working, as each day I was able to move them up farther on my leg, from right over the knee, to finally all the way up the leg and lost the weight, a half pound or more per day, thanks to these stockings. They were not hard to put on or pull off, did not slide down, the top did not roll down. The only negative was that I had to find outfits to hide the bulge in my upper legs above the stockings to go in public before able to pull them all the way up. The highest recommendation!

Worth the cost!
This brand is by far the best I've ever used. It's a good quality item and fits well.

Great stockings, my preferred brand
Jobst is currently my favorite brand for compression stockings. I ordered these to try a higher compression level than the others I have. The wide band with silicon dots that goes all the way around the top is the reason Jobst is my favorite. I have another brand with a thin band that only goes partway around the top, and they fall down very easily. The stockings are a good thickness for durability but not hot, and the new compression level is good. In these tighter stockings, sometimes my though does get tired of the gripping at the top, but it's not bad, and I would think that's unavoidable with higher level compression. I also like the open toes, as closed toes eventually hurt the ends of my toes. This was the best price I found on Amazon, and I really had to look hard for it, I think because they were promoting other sellers more (annoying).

Hole in foot after only three days
After only three days of use-always with socks on top of the feet to protect them-they already have a hole in one foot.

Jobst socks are great but too long & painful for a short person.
These support hose are great but , in comparison with the silky sheer, they are tighter, & much harder to take off! But my biggest complaint is that they are too long! I am medium-petite . Why isn't there a choice on the order form for short people? I read the size chart & noticed on the very bottom of the chart there IS mention of petites sizes. So why isn't there a place on the order form ? The Jobst stocking are one of the best, but for a short person they are painful fit when they are so high on the thigh near the groin.Apparently I cannot return this product & I'm very disappointed abot this.

It works, bit uncomfortable
I followed the sizing instructions on the Jobst site. (very clear) The sock provides plenty of compression alright. Purchased as traveler's sock and tried it for a 12 hour trip. The legs did not swell, cramp or fatigue but the compression from the sock was rather noticeable the whole time. The material was much heavier and did not particularly look like panty hose in the nude shade.Yes, they look un-stylish all the way. I'm sure it would look better in black. (More like black skinny jeans? Jobst, are you listening to this fashion tip?)Very difficult to get on. You can't gather up the entire leg of the hose and work your way up the leg as you would with pantyhose. Inch each segment of the tube up the leg and don't yank too hard. It's still possible to rip this stuff.
