I chose this set because it comes with a silicone board, rather than one made of vinyl. The board came folded in a rectangle. Upon unfolding, it showed only minimal creasing. I've now had the board for about two weeks and don't notice any creases. I prefer to roll up the board, though, rather than fold it. If it shows any signs of curling, I just roll it the other way. The board is soft, supple, and looks and feels as though it will last a very long time.The pieces are what one would expect at this price point. For a little more money, I could have bought a set with triple weighted pieces and a vinyl board. The silicone, though, just feels better and is more durable than vinyl. It reminds me of the silicone sheets used for baking. Anyway, together, the 34 pieces weigh about 1 pound. I do prefer heavier pieces but I'm not complaining. The pieces don't easily topple over if the table is jarred or I am playing outside on a breezy day.The included bag holds all 34 pieces with very little room to spare. The set does not come with a pouch for the board.I use this set at home and outdoors. My son may take it with him to summer camp. Because the pieces are inexpensive and easy to replace, I won't be to worried about the set being in the hands of a bunch of 6th grade campers.

This is really a nice little chess set. We keep it in our company kitchen and employees use it over lunch. The silicon board is nice, easy to keep lean and handy for storing. Yes, the pieces are plastic, but for the price it's a great set. I have purchased an additional couple sets because we liked them so much.

At the price ... this is an excellent set. The silicon board is a great improvement over similar vinyl type foldable/ rollable boards. It lays flat and doesn't slide. It is great to have standard Staunton pieces in tournament scale. And a treat to have a second queens for when you promote a pawn. Nice touch!My only 'quibbles' ... and why I did not give 5 stars ... first, is that it is a shame the pieces are not weighted. They do not have the pleasing 'heft' when you move a piece and seem easy to inadvertently knock over. Second, I do not like the glaring, bright white ... I would have preferred more of a cream/ off white as appears in the picture of the set. Also, only time will tell how durable the silicon board actually is.BTW ... I would have paid and additional $5 or even $10 dollars were the pieces weighted.

There are much better chess sets for this money. Mine came dirty and feels cheapball around.

I wish the pieces were a little heavier, but they are good enough. The silicone board is bigger than I would like, but overall, this was ok for the money, and I'll keep it.

Pieces are well made and I love the silicone board. It folds easily, but doesn't have any fold marks when unfolded. Everything fits in the case perfectly making it easy to store and a great set to travel with, too.

I was expecting the chess pieces to have a bit more weight. They feel plastic and cheap. The board however, silicone, is phenomenal. Way better than any vinyl or cloth board you can get.

The mat is great. The pieces feel a little cheap but overall great and the price is fair

Silicone board came out the box and laid flat with no creases. The pieces size and weight felt great in your hand. Would definitely by this again.

My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVE this chess board! It's easy to haul around, has nice, weighted pieces, and is a great size - not too small. Good for beginners to advanced players!

Great board. Retains shape well. kid proof (kids over 5). We use this for study and the weight/feel works well.

Quality chess set and roll-up board. Board is flexible and does not crack or crease like vinyl. Pieces are perfect weight and size. Extra queens are a nice plus.

This is a great travel set. The larger game pieces are great for younger players to use. Looking forward to using it!

Great board! Only bad thing I can say that is it clings dirt & dust.
