Perfect intonation every time
Having recently ‘broken’ my previously purchased Legere Signature reed I decided to try traditional reeds again. I very quickly remembered why I changed to the Legere reed in the first place. No having to go through umpteen reeds to find a ‘good’ one, no more having to moisten the reed before use, no more having a reed that is too soft after playing for a couple of hours and no more reeds that split just as you are getting use to them. Just put the Legere reed onto the mouthpiece and you are ready to play. Perfect intonation every time. Brilliant.

So easy to use
I've used a few of these synthetic reeds now, I went up from 1.5 to a 2.5. I find them so easy to use and lovely not to have to guess if the reed is wet enough or too wet, sturdier than a traditional reed, easy to clean and I can leave my sax set up ready to use and know the sound will be the same each time I play.

Love them
I love these reeds. It is about my fourth one. They are long lasting, comfortable, reliable. No need to wet them before use.

My son loves them although his saxophone teacher prefers wood. To my untrained ear it sounds the same. My son tells me it sounds very slightly different & gives a great sound right from the start but it was a little bit harder to play with - perhaps because it's made of plastic. He tells me a new reed also sounds different to start with but this read sounds like a broken in reed from the start. He finds them easier to tongue with. He's asked for more.

Best reeds you can buy
This is the only brand of reed I use, they are amazing, very easy to play, no need to soak, plays straight away, they have a lovely bright tone, my cane reeds have been sent into retirement.

You will save money as this reed will last at least a year
Very good. Gone are the days of getting through 10 reeds in a fortnight! No more mishaps

Good reed
Found reed slightly a bit hard but soon adjusted. Comment made to me was a big sound, slightly different to a cane reed and early days, but like

Issues with opened box and strength
As some other reviewers have mentioned, the box that the reed came in had a broken seal, though there is no evidence that the reed has been used prior to sale. I previously played alto sax with 2.5 strength Vandoren Java red box reeds. I found the Legere 2.5 strength Signature series reed is much harder to blow. I would suggest it is nearer a 3.0 strength relative to the Vandoren. I would recommend a check by referring to the relative strength charts on the Legere website before deciding on which Legere strength to choose. That said, I like the focused tone of the Legere.
