Great quality the pieces feel very solid and the price was great for this nice of a set. It doesn’t appear to have extra queens though for when a pawn promotes. I would like to buy some extra queens.

It's a gorgeous, sturdy set with strong pieces. Our old chess game had pieced that broke and we had to keep gluing them together.

High quality item. Adds a bice touch of nostalgia. Great conversation piece in my living room.

I want to start by saying the chess pieces are solid, have a unique look and nicely crafted, however the detail I am less pleased about is the laminate board which is easily scratched or ruined. I imagine at some point I would end up investing in a replacement board and use these chess pieces with it.

I bought this board as a gift for my girlfriend solely because the design of the board/pieces perfectly fit the design of her bar room and look great as an accent piece It looks aesthetically great, but it’s certainly more of a decorative piece for casual playing than an an actual functional travel chess board so I’ll break my review up into parts: Style: 4.5/5. Very unique looking, it stands out, and the black and white marbled look on the board looks very cool with the bronze and silver pieces. I’m happy with it just for the looks as an accent piece alone and it’s great if you want it for that. Piece quality: 3/5 Again, they look great. Especially the bronze. Pieces are heavy, have felt on the bottom (poorly glued, though). The bad thing I will say is they clearly come from a cast mold and on a few of the pieces you can see the molding trim. The bishops and king also look a little too similar. Board quality 1.5/5 while the board “looks” good, the quality is horrendous. It’s like a cheap hard plastic mold with this over the top urethane covering on it that scratches if you sneeze on it wrong and gets smudges on it that are hard to clean off. To open it, you absolutely have to lay it on something softy like a blanket or it WILL scratch. The latches are also small, the foam inserts inside are not great, and the pieces will probably fall out. Lastly, this board STINKS. Literally. As soon as I opened it, my living room was filled with an extremely scent of urethane and spray paint that took an hour to air out, and it took about a week for the smell to wear off even after cleaning it. Other than that, super cool looking set.

The picture makes it out to be even smoother and more better looking than is actually is in reality but the pieces were of good quality and the board was as big as expected.

Tye quakity is really good, the chess pieces are well constructed and looks very nice. Overall I liked it

The description says marbling chess board. But it’s a wood board with a marble effect that’s not 100% to the marble look. The coins are really nice. The details are good. The head of the king was a little bent but can be bent back. Overall a nice set but was disappointed with the wooden board
