IMS Competition Convex Filter Basket for bottomless 58mm portafilters (14g) B702TCH20E

Super happy I snagged this IMS basket on sale—total score! The quality is top-notch, just what you’d expect from IMS, and it works like a dream with my Gaggia E24. Sliding it into the group head is smooth, removing it is even smoother. No more stuck pucks—they pop right out like magic. I rinse it with hot water and dry it after each shot, and my espresso has never been more consistent. I usually dose 16g (sometimes 17g) with a stainless steel puck screen, and it pulls perfect shots every time. Might be tight for 18g with the screen though—haven’t tried it. If you’re using a Gaggia or similar machine, this basket’s a no-brainer upgrade. Highly recommend!

Basket fits perfectly into my 58mm bottomless portafilter that i had bought for my Gaggia Classic Pro espresso machine. It works great and is magnetic.

It doesn't get much better than these baskets. My shots are consistently great. If they weren't it wouldn't be because of this basket. I put 18g in this 20g basket and shots come out perfect on my Rancillo Silvia.

Getting more and better crema. Hidden flavor notes are more accessible on the tongue. What more could I ask for?

Good craftsmanship and aesthetically pleasing. This filter basket fits snugly into the Breville stock portafilter. At first glance, it looks quite similar to the Breville filter basket and makes one wonder if the IMS Competition will make a difference. Having watched many YT videos about IMS baskets, I knew to reduce my grind setting prior to use. The Breville basket was dialed in at 18 grind with Lavazza Crema e Aroma. I decided to start at 15 and was right on the money.Wonderful aroma, perfect 1:2 ratio with a lovely crema. A quick sip to confirm the lack of bitter or acidic pungency in this pull. The coffee flavor muted by the Breville basket bloomed with the IMS basket. Nothing else changed in the workflow, so I am quite happy I replaced the Breville basket with the IMS basket finding a beautiful resulting espresso and subsequent latte. Well worth the spend.

Coming from someone who recently went down the rabbit hole of espresso and upgrading my old 51mm cheap espresso machine to a Gaggia.Got the IMS Competition Convex Basket (H26+ version) a few days ago to pair with the Gaggia Classic Pro, and it’s already become a staple part of the workflow. Coming from the stock basket, the difference in build quality is immediately clear — tighter tolerances, smoother finish, and a base that actually encourages a more even extraction.What I liked most is how this basket responds to good puck prep. With a proper dose, WDT, and even tamp, the flow through a bottomless portafilter is much more uniform. Channeling is significantly reduced, and the shots are coming out with better body and clarity — especially when grinding consistently. The convex base also seems to help reduce soggy pucks and keeps the center from collapsing post-shot.It’s not a flashy upgrade, but is easy to dial in which is important for anyone who doesn’t want to dial in regularly, it makes a real difference. Paired with the right prep, it brings a level of consistency and balance that’s hard to get from a stock basket.

Best of the best. Easy to clean. No nanotech.
